Casa du Lac, by R Collection Hotels ★★★★

📍 Via del Prestino 11, Varenna

"The initial contact with the Reception Desk was weeks in advance. By Email, we arranged dinner on our arrival and parking for the 3-day stay at the wonderful boutique facility. I felt fortunate to have a room reservation 6 months in advance. Casa Du Lac must a popular spot in Varenna, There was a wedding during our stay but we didn’t feel slightest in the least. Always eager, welcome smile and tasty dishes from the restaurant and of course - extra help with the luggage. Thanks Casa Du Lac!"

📍 Via XX Settembre 35, Varenna

"Tiny worn out room. Could hear everything in adjacent room. Felt it was overpriced for what was offered. Nice lake view. Very basic room. As others mention stairs are a problem for some but there was also three flights of stairs to drag our cases up. Would not stay here again."

"The home was very lovely. A beautiful view. It was a good hike to the train but nothing too bad. Varenna was close and had some good restaurants."

Casa du Lac, by R Collection Hotels ★★★★
"Amazingly beautiful hotel! It is in a great location. We had a room with a huge terrace on the 1st floor. The view was outstanding. We ate dinner at the restaurant our first night there. Delicious! I can't say enough about the people who work here. Extremely helpful with making recommendations and reservations for us for dinner. Very friendly and they go out of their way to help you."

Albergo Milano ★★★
"The staff was really kind and helpful, but the food was really bad. The soup was good, pasta was OK, but instead of meat we got bones and joints with really bitter, terrible pak choi (it wasn't even eatable), the risoto was unflavoured, it missed some seasoning. We definetely don't recommend and the quality was very bad according to the price. "

"Incredible resort. Just plan parking in advance. Rooms were a little noisy, but analogous to all hotels like this on the lake."
