"Brought my mom back to her childhood beach home for a visit and could not have gotten a better beach hotel room.  Balcony overlooking the ocean; huge room; nice showers; gorgeous interior hotel; friendly staff; great gym; nice pool, easy access to beach.  Perfect location."

"Dingy, dark, cramped, old & sad studio room 105 in building B. Avoid it at all cost. Housekeeping is doing its best to put lipstick on a pig. Don't be fooled by the 4 and 5 star ratings as they are for the restaurant, not the resort itself. This staff (best thing about the place) boasts that it was built in 1935 and is on the historic registry. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like anything has been updated to the room we stayed in since then. Yes there are newer buildings and suggest you stay in one of them. Folks who stayed in the villas and the Breakers all seem to be pretty happy. The main parking lot is a challenge. It is a public lot, so you're on your own trying to find space near rooms around it. We exchanged through our time share and now understand why the studios are always available. "

"We booked a room on the second floor several months in advance. We received an email confirmation a few days before our trip, and we noticed that we’d been moved to a different room on the first floor. We asked if we could be moved to any room on the second floor, and we were told that nothing was available. We stayed almost a week and, for most of our stay, the motel was almost empty. It only filled-up on the weekend. It was very confusing and frustrating. The floors needed to be mopped. (Our feet/socks got dirty as we walked around.) Other than that, the room seemed very clean. The décor is wonderful and fun. The motel policy states that quiet hours begin at 10pm nightly. However, a group sat around the pool playing music and talking loudly until after midnight one night. Normally, we wouldn’t have minded too much, but we had to catch an early flight the next day. We stopped by the front office twice (during business hours) to ask a question, but no one was there, and the door was locked. In-room information stated that the property was purchased by an investor from Tennessee in March 2023. Maybe the place is starting to go downhill. It felt like none of the employees/management really cared, and no one was on-site much of the time."
