"Stayed here for one night whilst (incidentally) a medieval festival was taking place in the town. That meant no access to the hotel and its car park as all of the streets in a 100m radius to it were closed. Hotel did not advise of this prior to arrival so we struggled to find parking elsewhere and spent an hour doing so before we were actually able to then walk to the hotel to check in. There was no one at the hotel desk to speak to in relation to this (we didn’t see any staff for the duration of our stay) - we had to check in using a self-service machine in the lobby. Room was fine, however air conditioning was limited to 19 degrees coolest which wasn’t suitable when the temperature overnight was 20 degrees."

"I stayed at Hirschenstube Hotel in Buchholz for two weeks while attending LBB and GMC in Germany, and I absolutely loved my stay. The owners truly make this place special. They are incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely caring—always ready to help and clearly passionate about making their guests feel welcome. Their hospitality created a personal, home‑like atmosphere that made my stay especially memorable. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, reflecting the pride and care the owners put into the hotel. Breakfast each morning was outstanding—fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. It quickly became one of my favorite parts of the day. Buchholz itself is a charming town, ideally located close to Freiburg with very easy train access. The hotel is just a five‑minute walk from the train station, making travel effortless. There are also beautiful walking trails nearby, perfect for exploring and relaxing after a long day. Thanks to the wonderful owners, excellent accommodations, and great location, this was an exceptional stay. I highly recommend Hirschenstube Hotel and look forward to my next visit."
