"I stayed at Hirschenstube Hotel in Buchholz for two weeks while attending LBB and GMC in Germany, and I absolutely loved my stay. The owners truly make this place special. They are incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely caring—always ready to help and clearly passionate about making their guests feel welcome. Their hospitality created a personal, home‑like atmosphere that made my stay especially memorable. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, reflecting the pride and care the owners put into the hotel. Breakfast each morning was outstanding—fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. It quickly became one of my favorite parts of the day. Buchholz itself is a charming town, ideally located close to Freiburg with very easy train access. The hotel is just a five‑minute walk from the train station, making travel effortless. There are also beautiful walking trails nearby, perfect for exploring and relaxing after a long day. Thanks to the wonderful owners, excellent accommodations, and great location, this was an exceptional stay. I highly recommend Hirschenstube Hotel and look forward to my next visit."

"Our rooms were generous and very clean, the cleaning staff friendly. However, breakfast for 18 Euro per person was completely overpriced. There was little choice, not even for vegetarians, even on request there was no raw food. Therefore, only 3 stars."

"We had wanted to stay overnight in Waldkirch for some time and stumbled upon the Storchen Hotel by chance. Besides its harmonious room concept, the hotel is distinguished by a multitude of small but exquisite details. The comfortable rooms, while not particularly large, are furnished with pleasant natural materials. The floors are wooden, as are parts of the interior. The warm color scheme is also reflected in the bathroom. A frosted glass panel creates a transparent transition to the room and complements the overall lighting concept. A modern rain shower is a given, even if it seems like an afterthought. The ambiance is truly perfect. The hotel is rounded out with a sauna, a fitness room, and a very large breakfast room – you almost feel like every room has its own table. No waiting in line, as we've experienced at other hotels at breakfast. Excellent! The breakfast itself: outstanding. High praise here as well. Everything was fresh, nothing mass-produced. Egg dishes cooked fresh to order – that's not always a given. The staff: all very friendly and helpful. We've certainly encountered other employees here. For all drivers seeking the ultimate parking adventure: the Storchen with its garage robot – or whatever you want to call it – is highly recommended. Parking spaces are even free. At this point, we really must say that the hotel offers excellent value for money and can warmly recommend it. Five well-deserved TripAdvisor points!"

"This is a family run hotel and so they try to make it more comfortable for the guests. The staff are friendly and always ready to help. This is located at the perfect location for those seeking a break from the city. small town with vineyards and just close to the Black Forest. Breakfast was decent. For those renting a car - Good news - parking is free."

"Andrea was a friendly and helpful host and made us feel at home straight away. The Gastehaus where we stayed was clean, comfortable and well-equipped with a lovely balcony with countryside views. We stayed three days. It is very well situated for exploring the Black Forest by car and we caught the local train into Freiberg for a day trip on Andreas recommendation. Very cheap, frequent trains and only a few minutes walk from the Gasthaus. A delicious breakfast with local produce was served in the building across the way, and there is a very popular restaurant/pub close by which served hearty and tasty fare in the evenings. It does get very busy but we went early and were able to get a table on both our visits. We would definitely stay here again if visiting this area."

"Stayed here for one night whilst (incidentally) a medieval festival was taking place in the town. That meant no access to the hotel and its car park as all of the streets in a 100m radius to it were closed. Hotel did not advise of this prior to arrival so we struggled to find parking elsewhere and spent an hour doing so before we were actually able to then walk to the hotel to check in. There was no one at the hotel desk to speak to in relation to this (we didn’t see any staff for the duration of our stay) - we had to check in using a self-service machine in the lobby. Room was fine, however air conditioning was limited to 19 degrees coolest which wasn’t suitable when the temperature overnight was 20 degrees."
