Old Winterport Commercial House

Old Winterport Commercial House

📍 114 Main St, Winterport
★★★ 8.9 (33 reviews)

"I found this lovely B&B on line and decided to try it reading all the good reviews. I traveled by myself from Mass to see my son play hockey at UMaine. The Winterport B&B is approximately 25 minutes to the college and was much more affordable than the hotels in Bangor. Ann, the owner of the Inn made me feel very comfortable and suggested some great places to visit during my stay. My room was very clean and the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. I will definitely stay there again!!"

Belfast Harbor Inn

Belfast Harbor Inn

📍 91 Searsport Ave, Belfast
★★★ 9.3 (102 reviews)

"The hotel is in Belfast Port, behind the hotel is the harbor, the room space is OK, breakfast is one per person, there are several choices, the waiters are very friendly, there are no restaurants and supermarkets around, you need to drive out, it is best to eat good food and buy it before staying."

Homeport Inn and Tavern

"Stayed in the king room upstairs immaculately clean and high end decor and amenities in bed linens and bath. There is a sink in the room and down the hall was our bath, tub with shower, sink and toilet very large with fluffy towels and Aveda toiletries. The breakfast is served buffet on an enclosed porch accompanying the chandelier out dining table. A complete selection of hot frittatas, quiche , eggs, cold meats and cheeses, freshly sliced fruits and baked croissants and chocolate croissants. Fresh hit coffee and tea Dinner in the tavern on the property is top notch. Chef selection for dinner option along side a regular offering of salads, soups, appetizers, main courses and desserts. The English pub bar is beautiful with plenty of seating and sometimes music The couple owing this property are always at your service in the inn and tavern. Please check out their web pages a beautiful setting and relaxing stay"

"My husband and I spent one night at this charming B&B. We regret staying only one night and plan on going back. Beautiful old Victorian filled with lots of flowers, on a quiet street. The room was perfect, clean and quiet. We enjoyed talking with our host Carl. The house is well decorated with period furniture and quiet corners inside and out to read, relax, Breakfast cooked by Cathy was very good but could have been more substantial. Coffee was ordinary and we would have loved a cappuccino. Maybe next time Carl?"

Old Winterport Commercial House ★★★
"This is a very reasonably priced guest house in a slightly quirky but attractive building. Winterport itself is a large village with few facilities, but is within half an hour's drive of Bangor and within an hour or so of Acadia National Park and the attractive towns of Penobscot Bay. We had the traditional key-in-the-mailbox welcome, but the owner, when we met her, was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to visit. We had a nice traditionally styled room (Geneva room) with plenty of light and space to move around. Cold buffet breakfast was good. My only criticism is the lack of either a kettle or water heater for making tea, which meant I had to heat my water in the microwave. A small thing which could be easily sorted out. "

"Our time in Maine was fantastic and the team at the Homeport Inn & Tavern took great care of my wife and myself. The lodgings were clean and comfy and the staff took care of us with great care. We felt as if we were at home in this beautiful house. The Tavern located within the property had great food and live entertainment, without even leaving this beautiful house."

"Very nice B&B in a convenient location on a quiet block near town center, which means near the water. I generally don’t care for B&Bs in old Victorian houses, but this one was light, airy, and very clean. We stayed in the Opal Room. Comfortable room with two chairs, and armoire with a lot of good quality hangers. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is a big screened window and an overhead fan. Bathroom is a good size. Shower is a little tricky; you have to pull up hard. The hosts are very responsive to requests; gracious and friendly but not intrusive. Breakfast is served at one big shared table, with space in another room for overflow. The breakfast is good; different types of excellent scones every morning, generally followed by a fruit dish and then a main dish. When we arrived, we were asked about our dietary preferences, which was nice. I would just advise that the last day, we had a dutch baby with fruit salad, which was very good, but jam spread on it and whipped cream on top might be too much sweet for some as their morning meal. There is seating in the first floor common areas, and comfortable seating on the front porch. Do you like good food? In town, Dos Gatos is high quality Mexican food. The Belfast Co-op right nearby has excellent sandwiches, including pre-made grab-and-go. We also had dinner at the Aster & Rose in nearby Lincolnville, a 20-minute drive. All highly recommended."
