Premier Inn Whitehaven

Premier Inn Whitehaven

📍 Howgate, Whitehaven

"Visit to Whitehaven premier inn. I stayed in an accessible room with floor level shower. The room was clean and there was a fan in the room. A member of the reception team kindly escorted my daughter to my room when she had arrived to drop off something for me. Rather than just giving her a room key so she could gain access to the building and my room, they checked that she was who she had said and that I was happy for her to have access to the building. I thought this was very good service and felt safe at the hotel. My daughter was impressed also. At a different location on a previous stay my daughter had been given a door key to my room after asking for it. No checks were made to make sure she was known to me and that I was happy for her to be allowed entry so for the staff at Whitehaven Premier Inn to be so vigilant whilst staying professional, polite and friendly, I was very impressed and made to feel safe during my stay."

"Lack of empathy and money orientated management ,due to a family setback I was unable to attend the room i had booked for 1 night to attend a party being held at their hotel for a friends 50th,I appealed to the hotel management regarding the situation and was informed "its against the hotel policy to refund any payments " I gave loads of notification and was ignored for days after numerous emails only to be told No."

"I had a wonderful stay at this lovely guesthouse. The hosts Ian & Nav were incredibly welcoming and friendly, striking the perfect balance between being attentive, but never intrusive. They went out of their way to accommodate all my requests, which made my stay feel effortless and comfortable. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful — from the colourful, well-kept garden to the stunning views that made every morning feel special. Breakfast was great and poached eggs were spot on. It’s the perfect place to relax, recharge, and enjoy some peace and quiet. I can’t wait to go back — highly recommended for anyone looking for a calm and refreshing getaway!"

Moresby Hall Country House Hotel

Moresby Hall Country House Hotel

📍 Moresby Hall, Whitehaven
★★★ 9.0 (66 reviews)

"I arrived on a stormy night in the lake district - on entering the hotel I was met with a warm glow from the log fire and a very warm welcome from the receptionist. As the hotel dining room was about to close, a room was sorted and the kitchen kept open for an evening meal - a delicious melt in the mouth steak was a pleasure after a 6 hour drive from the south of england, washed down with a welcome glass of Shiraz. The bed was very comfortable, the room had a large bath and separate shower cubicle and copious hot water. The decor and fittings were in sympathy with the age and history of the hotel, a pleasant change from the blandness of more modern mass market hotels. The staff were very friendly and it was a pleasure to be assisted without having to use automated impersonal systems. I will not hesitate to stay at the hotel again when I am next in the area."

Georgian House Hotel

Georgian House Hotel

📍 8-11 Church St, Whitehaven

"Lovely stay on business, hotel is clean, well kept, well presented rooms (which I think are all individual). Great shower and bathroom facilities. Dinner was amazing, and breakfast high standard. Service was great all stay too. I did notice it’s free room service which is a nice touch. Parking was fine on the main high street if you’re arriving after 6 and leaving before 8.30. It’s about 30 second walk"

Premier Inn Whitehaven ★★★
"We had a lovely stay here for 6 nights, the staff were helpful. The room was one of the cleanest ive stayed in. We had a room that looked out onto the sheep next door and it was a real joy waking up to them each day before starting our adventures into the lakes. I could not faul the hotel. We did not use the brewers fayre and the outside could use a freshen up as it looks a little run down. But inside was lovely and I would happily return here."

"We have stayed here before and always enjoyed it, sadly would not return. On getting in our room my husband went into the bathroom and was met with 2 soggy yellow loo rolls, which were quickly replaced, then we noticed the towel heater was leaking, and water was on the shelf explaining the said loo rolls. We were told we could move but only available room was in attic with a bucket in middle of floor as roof leaking. There was no heating on till sometime in the night after we'd gone to bed . We'd found a heater and put it on so we ended up being overheated. No tumblers in bathroom to put our toothbrushes in, pillows not comfy so we both had bad night sleep. Food wise, at evening meal my husbands fish was childlike and mostly batter and the chase burger wasn't up to much. He ended up eating 2 packets crosps when we got back to room as still hungry. Breakfast we had to look for someone so we could have butter on our toast. Only plus side were the staff, who were lovely."
