"Recently taken over by a lovely, friendly couple who are in the process of updating the hotel. Our room had been recently decorated and was very clean, comfortable and nicely presented. We had lovely views over the fields and the bed was so comfortable. I had the best sleep, so quiet in beautiful surroundings. We were going to another venue in the evening and Stuart kindly took us there and he was saying this is a service they are going to offer their guests. Food is served and the hotel source all their ingredients locally and we could see it is very popular. Our breakfast was superb. Would definitely recommend and they also accommodate tourers. Would have given 5 stars but they still have a bit of decorating and modernising to do."

"I stayed here on the final night of my Hadrian’s Wall walk. The owner kindly picked me up from the end of my walk and the strong hospitality continued from there. A neat, well provisioned, comfortable room and dining (pub) advice made for a very relaxing stay (and a fine, honest pub supper too). Local knowledge for the latter is essential as some of the tourism-issued information is considerably out of date. This morning, a fine breakfast (with strong, well made coffee - surprisingly rare along the Wall!), saw me set for my exit. My thanks to both hosts - a cracking place to stay and strongly recommended."

"As an owner I love this site..staff very friendly and helpful from management to maintenance..yes you get the odd one but that's life .my biggest shout out and congratulations for getting promoted to entertainment manager goes to Emily..she has worked her socks off all on her own for weeks..kids love her,adults love her she has done an amazing job..Also Bertie bar manager doing a great job with little or no staff ....now someone said some owners don't like you walking past their caravan .(Don't know if you meant by cutting through caravans or general walking in the road) But you do not cut through people's caravans it's a rule,as is dogs should be on lead on park yet many do not ....we are mainly a friendly bunch and will help anyone out owners and renters. Happy to talk to anyone on site ."
