"Considering it was the only newly opened and relatively reputable hotel in the area, and the staff at nearby restaurants said it was the most upscale, I decided to go for it. However, the air conditioning in the most upscale room was broken. Even after running it for half an hour, the temperature was still only around 30 degrees Celsius – unbearable in the middle of the afternoon. I told the front desk and asked a cleaning service to check it out. The cleaning service also said the air conditioning was faulty. I asked them to change me to a room with good air conditioning, and the cleaning service replied, "Then don't tell the front desk the air conditioning is broken." What am I supposed to do? When I asked the front desk to change rooms, they just looked surprised and seemed completely unresponsive, like a machine. I ended up canceling the reservation and booking a higher-class room myself. The standard room was extremely small; there wasn't even enough room for my luggage. I don't know how they calculated the area."

"The facilities were outdated, the rooms and bathrooms were filthy, and the showerhead was so loose you had to hold it by hand! The corridors were dark, and the service was poor. I have no idea how they got a 3-star rating. The experience was worse than a 2-star guesthouse."

Wan Li Yuan Hotel ★★★

"A decent sanatorium in the Wudalianchi Geopark. We visited in winter, when Wudalianchi is sparsely populated and almost all the sanatoriums and hotels are closed. Wan Li Yuan proved to be the best value for money. Breakfast is included in the price, with a wide selection of dishes. Lunch and dinner are also available at a low price. This is a big advantage, as almost all the cafes in Wudalianchi are closed in winter. We found the sanatorium's location conveniently close to many of the attractions we wanted to see. The Northern Mineral Spring, Yaochuan Volcano with its Buddhist temple in its crater, and the Volcano Museum were all within walking distance. The sanatorium itself offers medical and wellness services, but we didn't use them. We were pleased to see many guests from Russia. They come to Wudalianchi for treatment and wellness year-round. One drawback I would note is the open smoking area on the ground floor. Because of this, there is a constant, terrible, noxious smell at the reception desk and at the entrance to the hotel, which is very strange for a sanatorium where people go to improve their health."

"It's too old, decorated in the 1990s. The sink would fall off if you touched it. Selling it for over 600 yuan during the summer vacation is really a bit excessive. Wudalianchi is generally very old. If I hadn't seen the Fanhuashihai, I don't think this place is worth visiting at all."

"The hotel is quite new. Breakfast is served at a partner hotel about 100 meters away, which is unique as they prepare individual portions based on the number of guests. The front desk staff were very welcoming and gave great recommendations for local restaurants. The only downside was that the TV didn't have cable, making it essentially useless."
