"I stayed here twice in the past two years and had a decent experience, but this time it was truly indescribable. The upgrade offered by Ctrip was supposed to be an upgrade, but the upgraded room type was exactly the same as the original. The room reeked of cigarette smoke, like the kind you get in a karaoke bar, with a strong salty smell. I called the front desk at night to ask them to spray air freshener, and 20 minutes later a security guard brought over an incense burner! Such a large hotel room didn't have air freshener! It was shocking. I spent the whole night burning something like mosquito coils to try and mask the smell. The room I was assigned was near the road, and it was incredibly noisy in the latter half of the night. One of the windows wouldn't close properly, the soundproofing was terrible! The room was the first one, next to the staff passage, and the noise from staff opening and closing the door early in the morning was unbearable, with no door closer, and the sound of the door slamming was deafening. And let's talk about cleanliness. The water stains on the toilet were shocking, yellowish streaks. The carpet was also a major flaw! It had soot holes, stains, etc., looking filthy. The only redeeming qualities of the entire environment, besides the lobby being somewhat spacious and the front desk service being passable, were truly nothing to praise."
