"The Property & Rooms: Dongshi Inn is a beautiful, rustic gem managed personally by the owner. It features a modern brick building attached to the owner’s traditional house, preserving a wonderful "old world" charm with its wooden walls. We stayed on the 4th floor (there are only 8 rooms total), and the view was breathtaking—exactly like the photos on Trip.com. The amenities were as clean and complete as a boutique hotel. The Hospitality & Food: Although breakfast wasn’t listed during booking, the owner prepared a fantastic meal for us. We had local mung bean and wheat noodles with preserved vegetables and minced meat. It was honestly tastier than the local street food. She also provided steamed brown bread, eggs, and tea in her own home. Going Above and Beyond: The owner is incredibly helpful. She assisted us with river cruise tickets, booked our transport out of town, and even walked us to the driver on our last day. Most impressively, when we accidentally overpaid at a nearby restaurant, she personally helped us get our money back immediately. One morning, we wanted to buy postcards, but it was early and the bookshop was still closed. The owner personally went to the shop, which belongs to her friend, and opened the doors for us herself so we could browse, then called the shop owner to wake up and come down! This level of care is rare. "Living all season is really a pleasure! From the moment I entered the door, I was cured by the Zen atmosphere. The log color decoration was clean and elegant, and there was no fancy decoration. The bedding is super comfortable, the pillows are soft and hard to choose from, and the sleep aid tea bags are very intimate. The health details are full and the TV channels are smooth. The service was just right, the front desk always smiled and said hello, and two bottles of water were sent out when checking out. I choose it every time I travel, and I feel as safe as going home."

"Our family of seven stayed in rooms 401, 402, and 403, including standard rooms, family rooms, and single rooms. Each room offered a view of the Gongtan River 🌊, with the suite in room 402 having a slightly better view. The children loved sitting on the chairs by the window watching the river view – the emerald green Wujiang River and the scattered stilted houses. Sitting here, time truly seemed to slow down. The guesthouse was newly renovated, with complete and new facilities. The children had a smart speaker to watch cartoons quietly, and adults could relax and lie down. The family room was perfect for families with children. My little one even asked to sleep alone in his crib until he naturally woke up. Gongtan Ancient Town isn't heavily commercialized; many shops were closed, making it ideal for a slower pace of life. Choosing a guesthouse you like and experiencing a slower lifestyle is wonderful!"
