"My flight got delayed, but they waited to let me in, and quickly showed me to my room, which was spacious and a lovely view of the gardens and Pool, the bed was comfortable in the shower was perfect. The lady on reception was lovely and prepared my breakfast and adjusted to my likes I would fully recommend this hotel if you want somewhere close to the airport , but in beautiful gardens , it’s approximately eight minutes away, there is also a big shopping mall about the same distance away if you forget anything"

"My my wife and I pay for overnight stay when we arrive. It was a single person in charge of the property , everything with no lights no real restaurant nothing in the room, not even a coffee maker and the worst part. you have to spend the night all by your self in the property just with a single guard, no lighting, no way to communicate with the owner or the people in charge because if you ask the owner Marissia something she will block you from WhatsApp terrible experience we decided it was unsafe to spend the night alone in such a big property and we look for a for a different place to spend the night, of course we lost the money because she never answered our messages No hot water, aggressive dogs running free in the property that almost bite my wife The worst experience in our years of traveling around the world NOT RECOMMEND……."

"My experience did not quite match the enthusiastic reviews left earlier here. I think it's fine as a cheap airport stopover place, with a few caveats. The main one: be sure you get the right room! I was given a room two doors down from the office and the entrance to the hotel and it was very noisy, especially as the walls are paper thin and there are large windows between rooms that have been covered with dark film for privacy but of course let a lot of sound through. Oh right: it was kinda warm also and only had a small fan to blow air in from the hallway for ventilation. When I asked to change rooms I was told the only other option was a bunk room. Having already paid (big mistake!) I thought I'd give it a go. After a while I realized there was no way I'd be able to sleep with the noise so I asked to cancel and for a refund. They said that was not possible and then finally said there was another open room upstairs so I moved to there. It was much better and had a quiet air conditioner, so things worked out. But it's worth noting that even upstairs in the better rooms you hear everything in the hallway so are likely to be woken up at times unless you sleep very soundly. Personally, I'd go for one of the similarly priced Airbnbs in Alueta next time, even as the Toucan is not unreasonable for what it is. Oh right: it is true that it's very clean, as others have said, so that's good!"

"Chose this hotel due to proximity to airport & nice photos in ***********. Arrived after being advised to use 'orange official taxis' by hotel. They fleeced us. Room was dirty, bedsheets unclean, smelt & had hair in them. Mattress battered- could feel every spring. Shower- just a dribble of hot water.room didnt look like the photos! Squalid experience which ruined our first impressions of CR.noisy in the morinings.breakfast area unfriendly included a guest who let his dog defecate on the astro turf then walked off and left it, giving us a really pleasant aroma at breakfast. Save your money & go elsewhere. Thankfully we found much better places in san jose for the outward bound journey"

"The hotel was in the perfect location for us. It was in the most western part of San Jose. The view from the hotel of the mountains in Costa Rica was incredible! Near a lot of industrial logistic parks. It was important to us to have really good A/C so that we could sleep well at night. They hotel definitely delivered. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was incredible. I had to look up the recipe for some of the items! They even had a wine tasting one night that was a lot of fun. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. Always making sure we had a great stay."

"Services: Cozy rooms in separate houses. Delicious breakfasts for menu choice. Very polite staff. There is a fireplace heater. Very beautiful views of mountains in clouds. Deficiencies: The cars from the track are heard. Very bad Internet in the rooms. No refrigerator. There is no view room window, windows are small. Hot water in the shower needs to wait. Overall, the hotel we liked. I can recommend it."
