Big4 Breeze Holiday Parks - Eildon ★★★
"Coming to relax and be active at the river shores, (beautiful as is) is worth it alone. The cabin we've have been assigned could have better (overall) isolation around from the outside wind, which we suppose at the full heat summer is than the best thing to have, at the other side of the point. Staff is 100% professional, informative and helpful. All the services and facilities in the camp work properly and are performed meticulously on time. The camp kiosk store has more than you might need in the terms of food, refreshments, and even the gas cylinders re-supply, for your trailer and similar. A lot of available tenting space around for the low-profile tenting enthusiasts, at the affordable fee. You can hire the pedal carts if you really hate to walk at any given time, as well. Good safety, cleaning practices and general rules all over the camp, very pleasant to see, and very safe (safety) feeling overnight, as well. No any space struggle parking your vehicle anywhere next to your cabin, tent or lot. Camp can benefit further getting the sealed road surfaces inside, instead of current unsealed, dusty ones (as at currently 2023). Various tradies can also be seen in the morning arriving to constantly maintain, fix, and improve the standard of facilities. Overall - being this helpful experience of staying here - we highly recommend visiting this camp first, before going to the any others that are more directly at the lake itself. You are not going to be lost, unsafe, or be disappointed here."
Big4 Taggerty Holiday Park ★★★★
"We recently stayed at this holiday park and unfortunately had a very distressing experience. During our stay, my wife suffered severe food poisoning. It was a very difficult night, especially as we have a one-year-old baby. We chose not to leave the park in the middle of the night (at night the drive could be dangerous especially with a baby), and my wife struggled with her illness until morning. As a result, our baby did not sleep at all. In the morning, despite my wife being extremely unwell, I began feeding our baby and cleaning the cabin as much as I could. I called reception because there were no cleaning products provided in the cabin and I needed something to clean the floor. I received no response, likely because it was before 9am. With a tired and unsettled baby and a sick wife, I still managed to wash the dishes and clean the kitchen area as best as I could. When my wife’s condition worsened, I went to the office to explain the situation. I apologised for not being able to complete the cleaning. The staff member told me, “No worries, we understand your family situation.” I thanked them and left. However, two hours later, $200 was charged to my friend’s credit card who booked this place for us. I wrote to management again explaining our circumstances, but I was told that “personal circumstances” are not considered in their decisions. The lack of empathy in that response was extremely disappointing. I made it clear that I did not object to paying a fair cleaning fee if necessary, but charging $200 after verbally acknowledging and understanding our situation felt unfair and insensitive. This review is not about the money. It is about the lack of humanity and compassion shown toward a family with a sick mother and a one-year-old baby. We did everything we could with the limited supplies provided. There were no proper cleaning products or mop in the cabin, only a small number of tissues. Under the circumstances, I genuinely tried my best. There were also safety concerns in Cabin 40. The rail of the top kitchen drawer (with cutlery) was faulty and collapsed onto my finger, causing injury. The gas cooktop ignitor did not work, and instead, a lighter was left in the cabin, which is unsafe in a small space, especially with a baby present. We will be following up with Consumer Affairs Victoria regarding both the charge and the safety issues. I truly hope management reflects on this experience. Families travel to holiday parks expecting a safe and supportive environment. Illness is not something people can control, but empathy and understanding are choices. If the full $200 cleaning fee genuinely went to the cleaner, I can accept that. Otherwise, it feels like taking advantage of a family during a very difficult situation. I sincerely hope no other family has to experience this."
