Hotel Sun Days Amami
"In a good sense, it's a normal hotel. It's new, clean, and well-equipped, and the staff are humble and friendly. Also, as it's new, security is perfect, and you can enter the large public bath and the women's only laundry room by entering a PIN number. (Some people may find this troublesome...) The only thing that bothered me was that even though there is a PIN number security, the door to the women's only laundry room is left open, which is pointless...? Apparently, when there are a lot of users, the heat builds up and the door has to be left open. Since there is security that we can use with confidence, it would be perfect if they could improve that area."
Denpaku the Beachfront Mijora
"Excellent. An amazing place to stay with your significant other. I would recommend it to anyone going for a honeymoon trip. Great views and the amenities provided us with everything we needed. But you should definitely have a car to get to and from the villa and the rest of Amami's restaurants, super markets and all the other spots. The bathroom was also mind blowingly gorgeous. The view from the window wall is something that will truly be unforgettable and all the staff are very kind. 10/10 no question. Absolutely incredible."
Hotel New Amami
"Nice budget hotel if you would like to explore the main city of Amami, close to hotel you can find coin laundry, family mart and supermarket"
Amami Yagijima Hotel
"A small, tranquil resort hotel with beautiful scenery, away from the city center. Located on a small island at the entrance to the bay, it lives up to its name with two white goats. We were lucky to get an early check-in and an upgrade to an ocean-view room. The view of Naze Port from the room was stunning. You can also see the bay's night view from the large public bath. At the breakfast buffet, which had a wide variety of dishes, I ended up eating too much of everything. They also have chicken rice and miki (a local dish). I recommend climbing the observation deck on the small hill behind the hotel before breakfast. The view was great and it felt wonderful."
Amami Resort Basyayamamura
"The facility was relatively small and convenient for going out to eat, taking out the car, and doing anything else. The room was cleaned nicely. It was October, a relatively quiet time, so the bath was also empty and I was able to use it comfortably. I wondered if it would be small and dangerous if it was summer vacation, but... I thought that even though it was a large bath, it wasn't that big. Dinner was very delicious. Breakfast was a buffet, which was a bit disappointing, but considering the price, I think it was fine. All the staff were nice. It was my first time in Amami, and I was surprised that it was more mountainous than I expected, but the hotel alone gave me a tropical feel. It was close to the airport, which was good. There was a convenience store nearby, so I don't think you'll have any trouble. The souvenir shop in the hotel was not more expensive than other places, so I was able to make purchases with peace of mind."
Denpaku Akakina Hotel
"It was a fashionable hotel of the present style. It is close to the bus stop and is convenient to access. The area around the hotel is a small town, so there are not many restaurants, but I wonder if there is a rental car. The breakfast was delicious."
Amami Resort Hotel Thida Moon
"It was my first time on Amami Oshima, and I wasn't familiar with the area, but the location was fantastic, and the food was incredibly flavorful. I didn't find the sea slugs I was hoping to see, but I was more than soothed by the breathtaking starry sky I saw for the first time. ✨"
Hotel Big Marine Amami
"The hotel staff's service was not so good... There were no chairs in the rooms, so it was difficult for elderly people to stand up and sit down The breakfast buffet was good"
AZ Hotel Amami Island
"I book this villa for its outdoor jacuzzi, but turns out that the jacuzzi does not work!! I contacted the hotel email and received no reply for my 2-night stay. The shower hose on the jacuzzi tub got only the shower head without the tube, and so the "jacuzzi" renders to a big bath tub, which of course makes a difference to having a real jacuzzi. The location is also quite remote. The hotel is situated inbetween pieces of land where the locals pay tribute to their ancestors (you get what I am referring to). Personally I am fine with that, but nonetheless want to point out for prospective guests to take note. I have rented a car to get to the hotel on its GPS. I am not sure if its remoteness makes the car unable to arrive at the hotel on its GPS resulting in me going back to the car rental seeking for help. If it is not for a local staff there to take me to the hotel, I probably won't be able to arrive at the hotel relying on GPS (note that the car's GPS is fine getting to other places on Amami Island, just unable to locate the hotel). Apart from the above, the hotel is as described per her other facilities (except of course the jacuzzi). It is clean too. Still, I would not book it again."

Amami Port Tower Hotel
"I extended my stay here for two more nights. Very good place to stay."
Kami House
"It was located in the suburbs, within walking distance to Naze, the center of Amami City. I rented a car at Amami Airport and visited by car. It was a little far away, but there was also a parking lot. The owner and his wife were kind and thought about a travel plan. We also introduced the restaurant for dinner and made a reservation. Breakfast was handmade and the chicken rice was especially delicious. The bath and room were like a rural house, but I was able to stay calm. Since it is a guest house, unlike the hotel, I think that few people care about the interior and scenery of the room, but it is recommended if it is a tourist main."
