Hotel Sun Days Amami
"In a good sense, it's a normal hotel. It's new, clean, and well-equipped, and the staff are humble and friendly. Also, as it's new, security is perfect, and you can enter the large public bath and the women's only laundry room by entering a PIN number. (Some people may find this troublesome...) The only thing that bothered me was that even though there is a PIN number security, the door to the women's only laundry room is left open, which is pointless...? Apparently, when there are a lot of users, the heat builds up and the door has to be left open. Since there is security that we can use with confidence, it would be perfect if they could improve that area."
Amami Yagijima Hotel
"I stayed in a deluxe twin room for three nights, but I was disappointed that there was no sofa or anything to relax on in the room. It was a shame that there was a Japanese-style room area, but it was just tatami mats with nothing else. The other rooms and the public bath were clean and well-maintained. However, I think the food at the restaurant, both breakfast and dinner, was below average."
Hotel West Court Amami II
"The hotel employees were all nice, and the breakfast was luxurious and cozy! It was close to the bar and I was able to walk without a taxi!"
Amami Resort Basyayamamura
"I was determined to eat chicken rice on my trip to Amami. There are many famous restaurants, but I chose Bashayama Village, where Ryohei Suzuki had eaten. I could have more rice, and the authentic taste was the best!"
Hotel West Court Amami
"The location is convenient, with an airport bus stop right in front of the hotel. It's about a 15-minute drive to Ohama Seaside Park, famous for its sunsets. There are also restaurants and a shopping street nearby. The breakfast was delicious too!"
Guest house AMATERRACE
"The indoor was very clean, there was nothing insufficient in the facilities, and it was an experience that was more than enough for the price. I would like to use it again."
Hotel New Amami
"This hotel is located in downtown Naze, close to Yanagawa Street, and is convenient for dining and shopping. I rented a car and stayed there for two nights, but it was a little difficult to find the way to the parking lot. There were no particular problems with the facilities, but the room was on a low floor, so the downside to being close to the downtown area was that I could hear the hustle and bustle outside until late at night. I wish the soundproofing was a little better. The food was a buffet and not particularly luxurious, but they also had the local dish of chicken rice, so I was able to enjoy it without having to go to a specialty restaurant."
En- Hostel & Café Bar
"The soundproofing isn't great, and there's a bar on the first floor, so if you're sensitive to noise when sleeping, be aware. Also, the single bunk beds didn't come with duvets, but blankets were provided."
Guest House Aman
"There were signs everywhere asking people to be quiet, so other guests were also careful to be quiet. The owner was cheerful and friendly. The value for money was also good, and there were no problems with the Wi-Fi connection. I would like to use it again next time."

Amami Resort Hotel Thida Moon
"It was my first time on Amami Oshima, and I wasn't familiar with the area, but the location was fantastic, and the food was incredibly flavorful. I didn't find the sea slugs I was hoping to see, but I was more than soothed by the breathtaking starry sky I saw for the first time. ✨"
Denpaku the Beachfront Mijora
"The room was lovely, and everything about the breakfast—from the bento box served in the room to the food served in the lounge with its beautiful location—was delicious."
Amami Port Tower Hotel
"I stayed here for several nights when using the ferry. It's conveniently located near the port. There's a Matsumoto Kiyoshi next door that's open until midnight."
Rest and Lodge Syou
"I stayed two nights. This is the second review for the same accommodation. I was very satisfied. This accommodation is really exceptional value for money. Very grateful for a great experience. Thank you "Rest & Lodge Syou" for everything, especially the free airport pickup and drop-off. Very much appreciated."

Hotel Big Marine Amami
"Good location, close to bus stops, and the nearest beach (Asani Beach) is accessible by bike, which you can borrow from the hotel for free."
AZ Hotel Amami Island
"I book this villa for its outdoor jacuzzi, but turns out that the jacuzzi does not work!! I contacted the hotel email and received no reply for my 2-night stay. The shower hose on the jacuzzi tub got only the shower head without the tube, and so the "jacuzzi" renders to a big bath tub, which of course makes a difference to having a real jacuzzi. The location is also quite remote. The hotel is situated inbetween pieces of land where the locals pay tribute to their ancestors (you get what I am referring to). Personally I am fine with that, but nonetheless want to point out for prospective guests to take note. I have rented a car to get to the hotel on its GPS. I am not sure if its remoteness makes the car unable to arrive at the hotel on its GPS resulting in me going back to the car rental seeking for help. If it is not for a local staff there to take me to the hotel, I probably won't be able to arrive at the hotel relying on GPS (note that the car's GPS is fine getting to other places on Amami Island, just unable to locate the hotel). Apart from the above, the hotel is as described per her other facilities (except of course the jacuzzi). It is clean too. Still, I would not book it again."
Cabochon Camp
"If you don’t speak Japanese or have a car, do not stay here. The taxi driver had no idea where it was and no signs when I got there. It is very ramshackle and messy, with little indication of where to go for the cottage. 5 mins to the beautiful Tomari beach and there is a restaurant. The locals took me to a festival which was fabulous, but other than that I didn’t see a soul for two days."
