"Good Location. Decent size room. Kettle was dirty. Service poor. Bathroom not cleaned. Furniture not wiped from last occupant. Glitter on the tables and toothpaste drips on the door and on the shower door frame. It states that the rooms are cleaned with disinfectant, they must have ran out when it came to our room. The ice machine was smelly. Fire alarm was covered with plastic, apparently its normally covered by a sock as some guest smoke. The receptionist was both defensive and arrogant. This is a serious breech of H&S. This might be acceptable in the Eastern block but not in the UK. The plastic was removed and the kettle replaced. The food is practically all UPF's but there are good supermarkets not very far."

"What an amazing hidden gem this is. Nestled on a hill top overlooking the marshes with Warehorn church over the road, this pub with rooms is a must for a romantic get away. We arrived early and had a drink in the bar, which is beautifully quirky, a welcoming log fire burning and a wide selection of drinks. We had booked "Niddy" an attic room with so much to give, a comfy bed, roll top bath, and so much character. The only niggle I had with the room, was the W.C squeezed into the roof space it was a little awkward to stand up and wee, but that's a small thing when it comes to such a great room. Requesting a quiet table for dinner, we were given one in a side area and again we couldn't believe it, it was super romantic and we had the whole room to ourselves. Our waiter Muli was so good, he was attentive but not intruding, and so funny, we haven't had many meals out and he really did make the evening. The food was excellent and the vegan burger was one of the best I have had. The location was brilliant, if you're into walking, cycling, birdwatching or wanting to visit local sites (rye was only 20min drive away) The rest of the staff were also brilliant, and couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely return."

"Staff member George has been very amenable to helping whenever on shift, a very friendly personality. Seems to be very hardworking and and tailors customers/guests needs to individual needs as suited. George seems to check that every communal space is clean, stocked for the customers and is always prompt to serve both at the bar and front desk. I have been very appreciative of his hospitality representing Travelodge, a very worthwhile hotel."

"There was a really bad smell coming from the room, to the point where it made me feel sick. I also had to wait quite a while at reception because no-one was on the desk when I arrived at 3:30pm and it took them a while to come to reception after I rang the buzzer. The parking was great. Lots of spaces available and free to use."
