Lancang Hotels with Balcony

Having seen many reviews about the poor hygiene, inadequate service, and lack of facilities at guesthouses in Jingmai Mountain, I had already lowered my expectations. However, the actual experience exceeded my expectations. They had all the disposable toiletries that hotels usually provide. The owners were incredibly kind, cooking free rice noodles for everyone every morning and inviting guests for tea. In the evenings, they would knock on the door and bring freshly grilled pork belly – it smelled amazing and was incredibly delicious! The guesthouse's location was also fantastic; you could see the sea of ​​clouds right from the window, and it was very quiet at night. It was truly excellent value for money. The owners also sell tea, and I bought some to bring back as gifts for my family before leaving – the prices were very reasonable. Superb!

The environment was very comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful view whwre you can see some of the sea of clouds. They give you disposable coverings for you to put on top of the fresh pillow bedding and mattress for extra hygiene which is a nice touch I haven't seen before. Bathroom is very clean, though there are only two toilets and two showers and two sinks, so do note that for busy season, but it wasn't an issue at all during my stay. They provided breakfast too, fresh milk the boss heated for me when I got up, and red sugar glutinous rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves (babas), and it was fun to get ready for the day with new friends on the balcony overlooking the village. I think the environment is very good for meeting new friends and other solo travelers- I arrived at the hostel randomly at the same time as three other girls, and we explored Manghong togetjer on the boss's recommendations for itinerary and sightseeing. And the next day the boss dropped us off at a tea roasting experience, and just as we were heading to Nuogan another girl from the hostel finished her tea roasting session, so we all went to Nuogan togetjer to play. The boss even helped load my luggage onto the shuttle bus so that it could pick me up at a sightseeing spot further down the mountain!

I accidentally followed the celebrity Yu Qiuyu to stay at the Yuanyuan Inn. It has a cultural atmosphere and a convenient transportation. The boss and his wife are very good. They help you guide Jingmai Mountain and easily play and punch in. It is worth it.

The hotel is brand new and very clean, even has a smart toilet (YYDS!). The most worthwhile thing is the absolutely stunning view. We saw a small sea of ​​clouds in the morning and bright sunshine at noon. For this view and price, it blows away the entire village. However, it's located in Mangjing, not Wengji. If you're driving, there's a large parking lot in the courtyard, which is very convenient, so parking isn't a problem. Parking is very troublesome in Nuogan or Wengji. The scenery here is so beautiful that you could easily spend a few days relaxing at the hotel. It's about a 5-minute walk to the Princess Banyan Tree. We didn't visit any other attractions, but overall it was really great. I saw online that many of the guesthouses nearby were older and I was worried about hygiene, but thankfully this one was very clean. It's definitely worth the money and highly recommended. They were also very helpful in getting rid of the bugs that flew in at night.

Although the weather we came in the past two days was not very good, Guyan Inn can relax. Just sitting on the platform and watching the clouds or drinking tea in the courtyard and watching the trees, I can stay in a daze all day. The overall design of the inn and some small details can see that the boss is carefully built. The location of the inn is in Mangyu, the first stockade on the mountain, but the location is very good, on the slope of the mountain, there is no obstruction in front, you can see the beautiful sea of clouds or sunset. I also climbed up the back mountain by myself, but unfortunately it rained that day, and I saw that the sea of clouds did not sunrise. Self-driving, in fact, not far from each stockade, after passing Jingmai Dazhai, it became a drying board stone road, more injured tires. The restaurant's production is also very good, especially worth mentioning is a chicken two eating crab feet chicken soup, our family Laoguang highly recognized.

To be fair, the environment is indeed lovely, and the landscape design, including the pool and gym, is very well-thought-out. However... 1) The room was too hot. It was 31 degrees Celsius when we checked in. We set the air conditioning to 16 degrees with maximum fan speed and left it on all night. The next day, the display still showed 29 degrees. It was incredibly stuffy. 2) The breakfast selection was quite limited. My parents, who were traveling with me, said it wasn't even as good as Atour's. There were no hot dishes at all. We only found out we could order stir-fried beef with broccoli by asking. The rice noodles were also the worst we'd had on our entire Yunnan road trip – soft and mushy. My parents mentioned speaking to a staff member who said it was due to low occupancy, so they hadn't prepared much. This really shouldn't be the standard for an InterContinental. Even if there aren't many cold dishes, simply making a decent bowl of noodles or rice vermicelli would significantly improve the experience. I could sense the staff's eagerness to please and their diligence; they kept asking how our stay was and what we wanted to eat. They even brought a bowl of tangyuan (sweet glutinous rice balls) even after we said we didn't want any. But honestly, it felt a bit misplaced. It would have been much better if they had focused on ensuring comfortable room temperatures and providing a basic, decent breakfast selection.

The room was spotless, and even had a smart toilet. All the toiletries you could need were provided. In the evening, the owner even had a BBQ in the yard, grilling meat, oranges, sugarcane, and sticky rice cakes, plus karaoke! The sunset view from the third-floor balcony was absolutely amazing. The location is also fantastic, making it super convenient to get anywhere. It's easy to catch a bus too, with a stop just a few minutes' walk away, and it's not a busy area, so no traffic jams – very peaceful. You can even walk to Wengji Ancient Village. The owners are also incredibly kind and friendly.

It's good that the homestay is right in the village. In the morning, all the roosters crow at sunrise. It's more pleasant than the noises made by cars driving past the road right under the window. The male receptionist doesn't have many words. The female receptionist made tea and chatted with us. The room was not cleaned and the necessities were not stocked daily. The window is tinted with green and made the view out of the window appears nicer in one section.

The girlfriends are together to eat, drink and stroll, travel on the staggered peak, Jingmai Mountain itinerary full score 💯 It’s right to have a rain, and it’s also right to have a sea of tea mountains and clouds! Staying at the famous hotel opened by Pu'er Tea Non-genetic inheritor Yuan Wen, the two families take care of it personally. The room is oversized and the twin bed can easily accommodate 4 people. The boss will soak in the homemade Pu'er every day to entertain guests from all over the world. The proprietress cooks good dishes. In the evening, the little brother and sister will roast corn sweet potatoes and make milk tea to talk to everyone around the stove. Although September is not the tea picking season, the tea picking experience can still participate. After the rain, the fresh air and various cicadas called to sweep the hustle and bustle of the city for two nights and three days. It was fleeting. The night before leaving, I was fortunate to taste the Iceland treasured by Master Yuwen. I returned to Gan, which was extraordinary! When I went down the mountain the next day, I rarely encountered the sea of clouds. Life is worth it! Looking forward to gathering again next time, I wish the homestay better and better!

The location is great, right in the center of the village. You can enjoy the sea of clouds and sunset from the second-floor tea room without even leaving. It's very relaxing, and the staff's attitude is quite good. However, there are a few drawbacks: 1. Although you can enjoy free tea in the second-floor tea room, it's a bit disappointing that there are no complimentary tea bags in the room. Even hotels not located in tea-producing regions usually provide tea bags in every room. 2. If the shower and toilet aren't separated, they should at least provide a pair of plastic slippers. Otherwise, wearing disposable slippers after a shower is very slippery and easy to trip. Not wearing any shoes isn't hygienic, especially since it's about 2 meters from the shower to the door.
