"The location is great, right in the center of the village. You can enjoy the sea of clouds and sunset from the second-floor tea room without even leaving. It's very relaxing, and the staff's attitude is quite good.
However, there are a few drawbacks:
1. Although you can enjoy free tea in the second-floor tea room, it's a bit disappointing that there are no complimentary tea bags in the room. Even hotels not located in tea-producing regions usually provide tea bags in every room.
2. If the shower and toilet aren't separated, they should at least provide a pair of plastic slippers. Otherwise, wearing disposable slippers after a shower is very slippery and easy to trip. Not wearing any shoes isn't hygienic, especially since it's about 2 meters from the shower to the door."
"The room was very clean and modern, and I especially loved the tree view outside the window – it truly felt like living among the trees. The hotel service was also excellent; they helped us arrange transportation and we enjoyed some lovely tea and conversations. Fantastic!"
Located in Manghong New Village, Jingmai Mountain, Pu'er, our villa lies within the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Forest.
Most rooms feature a private terrace where you can step out to a sea of clouds floating above thousand‑year‑old tea trees. The rooftop Pavilion public viewing terrace offers an unobstructed 360° panorama – perfect for sunrise over the clouds in the morning and sunset glowing over the tea mountains in the evening, then stargazing at night.
Free on-site parking is available for a hassle‑free self‑drive arrival. Interiors are crafted with natural wood, providing cozy beds and private bathrooms. In the common area, you can enjoy traditional roasted Pu'er tea while listening to the wind and birds.
Whether you are a photographer, a tea lover, or simply seeking a serene escape above the clouds, you will find peace and depth of time here.
"Facilities: The rooms were spacious, and I loved the folk-style decor. The toiletries and hairdryer were all from reputable brands.
Cleanliness: The rooms, lobby, and dining area were all very clean.
Service: This is truly the best guesthouse I've ever stayed in. The receptionist was incredibly attentive, and the guesthouse owner was especially kind. He drove us to and from Manghong so many times. When it rained and we couldn't get back, we called the guesthouse, and he even turned around and came back to pick us up. He also kindly took us to photograph the broccoli trees in the evening. We are so grateful to him! Although it rained these past two days and we didn't see the most beautiful Jingmai Mountain, the guesthouse service made it all worthwhile. I would definitely come back to Jingmai Mountain just for this guesthouse.
Environment: I highly recommend everyone sit on the rooftop terrace; it's so comfortable."

AAstrxdThe environment was very comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful view whwre you can see some of the sea of clouds. They give you disposable coverings for you to put on top of the fresh pillow bedding and mattress for extra hygiene which is a nice touch I haven't seen before. Bathroom is very clean, though there are only two toilets and two showers and two sinks, so do note that for busy season, but it wasn't an issue at all during my stay. They provided breakfast too, fresh milk the boss heated for me when I got up, and red sugar glutinous rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves (babas), and it was fun to get ready for the day with new friends on the balcony overlooking the village. I think the environment is very good for meeting new friends and other solo travelers- I arrived at the hostel randomly at the same time as three other girls, and we explored Manghong togetjer on the boss's recommendations for itinerary and sightseeing. And the next day the boss dropped us off at a tea roasting experience, and just as we were heading to Nuogan another girl from the hostel finished her tea roasting session, so we all went to Nuogan togetjer to play. The boss even helped load my luggage onto the shuttle bus so that it could pick me up at a sightseeing spot further down the mountain!
GGuest UserThe location had great views over the valley, including the early morning sea of cloud. The property has a rooftop lookout that our group could get together to enjoy the view.
It helped that our taxi could drive through the narrow road of Mengben village and deposit us and our luggage on the doorstep of the homestay. This is unlike Wengji & Nuogang villages, where cars are not allowed to enter the village but deposit visitors at the village carpark.
The hospitality of the owner/hostess was remarkable.
She had a Pu'er tea table and made us endless cups of different tea all grown in her farm, explaining their differences and virtues. She did not charge us a cent for the whole experience. Neither did she try to hard sell the tea leaves although we did buy a small amount off her because we enjoyed the tea. She is a good cook and whipped up breakfast and lunch for us.
AAdaHuang_This hotel is a comprehensive wellness resort with excellent facilities, including hot spring pools, an infinity pool, and a health clinic. The entire hotel has over 260 rooms, spread across several buildings, offering both standard rooms and villas.
The front desk upgraded me to a mountain view room upon check-in, and when I provided feedback at check-out, they also gave me a tea gift.
I found interesting folk handicrafts at the gift shop.
Service could be improved. The promised welcome fruit was never delivered, and there was no proactive introduction to the hotel's facilities or the various experience packages. When I inquired, most of them were unavailable for booking.
The afternoon tea pastries were not impressive.
The restaurant had very few non-spicy options, and the selection was too limited.
The second-floor platform needs better management. Also, guests in the lobby on the first floor were still being noisy late at night.
Overall, it's much better than the established quiet luxury hotels nearby, but there's still room for improvement.
GGuest UserIt's very convenient to get around. It's only about a 10-minute walk to Beigui Cafe to watch the sunrise. The rooftop platform has a great view with a panoramic vista of the beautiful scenery. The owner makes rice noodles every day with broth that she has cooked the day before as the base, which is very delicious.
GGuest UserSuper five-star experience, every place in the inn is very attentive and beautiful. The inn is spacious, the room is large and the facilities are modern. You can make tea in the hot and lively stove, roast sweet potatoes and roast glutinous rice cakes, or you can drink the ancient tree Pu'er and white tea quietly. The B&B is located in the ancient village of Mangyu, Jingmai Mountain, Pu'er. Here you can have a sunrise and sunset one-stop. The innkeeper made a sunrise observation deck and sunset observation deck on his tea mountain. The boss and the proprietress are of high quality, gentle and literate. The people in Jingmai Mountain are warm and peaceful and hospitable. The boss also has his own tea factory, before leaving to choose a few teas, take home the slow product.
Ee06642322After comparing several guesthouses in Jingmai Mountain, I finally chose Aileng. Haha, I only found out after arriving that ”Aileng” is actually the name of a tea ancestor.
The guesthouse was quiet and clean. The owner and her family were incredibly kind. Seeing that we hadn't driven, and perhaps because it was the off-season, they kindly drove us to several nearby attractions for two mornings in a row. Although the weather wasn't great, we were warmed by their hospitality.
GGuest UserThe room was spotless, and even had a smart toilet. All the toiletries you could need were provided. In the evening, the owner even had a BBQ in the yard, grilling meat, oranges, sugarcane, and sticky rice cakes, plus karaoke! The sunset view from the third-floor balcony was absolutely amazing. The location is also fantastic, making it super convenient to get anywhere. It's easy to catch a bus too, with a stop just a few minutes' walk away, and it's not a busy area, so no traffic jams – very peaceful. You can even walk to Wengji Ancient Village. The owners are also incredibly kind and friendly.
GGuest UserThe innkeeper is fantastic! They kindly offer pick-up and drop-off services to the bus stop, which is conveniently located about 1km away. The guesthouse is impeccably clean, and it's a lovely spot to unwind with a cup of tea and a good chat. You can even enjoy stargazing at night! For a more comfortable and spacious stay, I'd recommend opting for a double room.
KKeaikelederenerI rarely write accommodation reviews, but this time I really want to give a shout-out 😊 Our stay at Guesthouse No. 56 in Wengji Ancient Village was exceptionally comfortable! The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft, and the view from the window was breathtaking – endless tea plantations and a sea of clouds. The owners, a husband and wife, are the same age as us and we had a lot to talk about. They sell tea and run a guesthouse, and even during the busy Chinese New Year period, they drove us around the sights for free, saving us the trouble of not knowing the roads and finding parking! They invited us to drink tea and chat, sharing our lives and experiencing authentic Bulang ethnic life. Although there was no breakfast, there were small shops nearby, which was very convenient. Wengji Ancient Village was our favorite of all the villages we visited in Jingmai Mountain, and I sincerely hope that no matter how long it goes on, it can maintain its simple and honest folk customs and touching scenery, and not be eroded by commercialization!
GGuest UserThe girlfriends are together to eat, drink and stroll, travel on the staggered peak, Jingmai Mountain itinerary full score 💯 It’s right to have a rain, and it’s also right to have a sea of tea mountains and clouds! Staying at the famous hotel opened by Pu'er Tea Non-genetic inheritor Yuan Wen, the two families take care of it personally. The room is oversized and the twin bed can easily accommodate 4 people. The boss will soak in the homemade Pu'er every day to entertain guests from all over the world. The proprietress cooks good dishes. In the evening, the little brother and sister will roast corn sweet potatoes and make milk tea to talk to everyone around the stove. Although September is not the tea picking season, the tea picking experience can still participate. After the rain, the fresh air and various cicadas called to sweep the hustle and bustle of the city for two nights and three days. It was fleeting. The night before leaving, I was fortunate to taste the Iceland treasured by Master Yuwen. I returned to Gan, which was extraordinary! When I went down the mountain the next day, I rarely encountered the sea of clouds. Life is worth it! Looking forward to gathering again next time, I wish the homestay better and better!
