We recommend the steamed Menghu mandarin fish. The restaurant has a large 180-degree viewing glass, and the scenery is amazing. The hotel is very spacious and the garden is beautiful. Amazing 2 night stay in Wentang, this hotel is fairly new and boutique design. The in suite tub was a nice feature. Walking distance to everything in the village and short walk right outside from the hotel along the riverside. They even have a small Landry machine in the room. The service and attentions from the host/ Reception was top notch! Gave us tips and recommendations during our stay along with bringing the breakfast to our room. I would choose a place like this over the big corporate chain hotels.

Finding it is a little tricky - entrance to the hotel is different from the reception. Look for the signboard with the logo of a boat on it for the reception. There is some noise of trains passing, but not too loud. Worth it for the convenience of the location.

Although there are some problems, it is not easy to maintain such a large hotel with not many guests. Cleaners kept the toilet paper and towels topped up frequently, always when I was out, so I’d come back to a freshly topped up room which was awesome. Bed was a little hard (but I like really soft beds) but the pillows were very nice. Only downside is the shower is right next to the toilet, so the toilet always gets wet after a shower. Overall, really liked it and I’d stay there again.

The managers are two beautiful sisters, who are warm and hospitable, love to chat, and make delicious tea. They added the WeChat of the second B&B without hesitation. We wanted to take a hot spring bath, and the owner helped us book tickets, which were cheaper than the market price. We were hungry after taking a hot spring bath, and when we arrived at the B&B, the aunt had prepared the dishes on time. The ingredients were fresh and the taste was great. It is really suitable for friends who like quiet and small groups. We didn’t go anywhere the next day. We ran in the mountains early in the morning, swung on the swings and played frisbee after breakfast, drank tea and chatted, checked out after lunch, and made an appointment with the owner to come back next time when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom! By the way, the puppies in the store are super cute, so adorable, and they have pink ear dye. They are very good at being cute, so I guess they have a lot of fans!
