Hotel Starlight
9.0 (1 reviews)

Hotel Starlight ★★★★

📍 Karkando-18, Nepalganj

"Staff was very friendly. I was sitting down waiting for my driver, and they came to offer me water.  I also made a mistake with my reservation and could not refund (it was through Trip.com), and manager offered me free meals in compensation for my added costs. That was a nice touch; other hotels might not have done anything."

Siddhartha Hotel, Nepalgunj ★★★★

📍 Khaskarkado, Nepalganj

"The hotel is centrally located and offers comfortable rooms, excellent dining options, and a wide variety of choices for breakfast. I had a pleasant one-night stay, and I would especially like to appreciate the professionalism of the front office and F&B service team. However, I would like to point out a few areas that could be improved to enhance the overall guest experience: 1. Near the guest lift area, raw materials and supplies were being arranged in a manner that was clearly visible to guests as well as from the bell desk. This affected the overall presentation and ambiance of the public area. 2. The internet connectivity was quite poor, with frequent disconnections and slow network speed. I reported the issue around 11 PM, and the Engineering and IT teams responded promptly and managed to partially resolve it. However, the same issue reoccurred the following morning. 3. As someone from the hospitality industry myself, I noticed that the staff member on duty at the swimming pool area was chewing gum while walking around the pool in the presence of guests, which appeared somewhat unprofessional. Overall, I had a good stay and appreciate the efforts of the team. With attention to these minor details, the guest experience could be even better."

Hotel Maxx ★★★

📍 5MWP+7P6, Red Cross, Kohalpur

"The Hotel Maxx is under new management. Everything works. We have hot water and enough water to flush the toilets, even on the 5th floor. The hotel is clean and well managed. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The Chef provides excellent meals that are not too spicy for western pallets. "

"No hot water, lots of cockroaches (killed several), windows couldn't be opened, no ventilation at all. Chicken fried noodles 490, pizza 500 – I don't understand these prices, there should be a big price difference between the two. When leaving, I asked if there was a taxi to the station, they quoted 500 for 3 kilometers, too lazy to bother, so I paid. Then I got a call saying it would cost 800, so I hailed a tuk-tuk and left. The Ctrip booking showed a Western-style buffet breakfast, but there were no guests, no buffet, just random local food – maybe a fried egg and a sandwich could be considered Western? I had stomach problems for the first two days, but was fine afterwards, so I can't say for sure. It just so happened that there was the 26 apps incident, I wasn't allowed to leave for two days, so a cheap hotel is better – I could come and go freely. Here, I had to wait for security to unlock the door."

"Terrible hotel. We've moved rooms 3 times due to sewerage system not functioning. The bathroom windows have no glass or fly wire so mosquito's are an issue and the fan in the room doesn't work and it's close to 40Deg C during the day. Deplorable. And the staff are slow and un professional. There are other hotels near by. Will be taking our business elsewhere."

"We visited your hotel for dining only and were not staying at the property, as we are locals. While the food and overall service were good, we had a very disappointing experience regarding the payment process. The waitress mistakenly charged double payment from the same table. When we requested a refund back to the same card, she declined and said it could not be done. Instead, she insisted on giving me cash back while keeping the payment taken from my guest’s card. This situation was extremely disappointing and embarrassing for us in front of our guests. We were not expecting such unprofessional handling from a renowned 4-star hotel. We hope management looks into this matter seriously and ensures this does not happen to other customers in the future."
