"We stayed here for stop over before continuing our road trip to Melbourne. I love this hotel in the center of Bega town, service-minded staff, near parking slots, spacious room, fast Wi-Fi’s. Though the facility is quite old, but me and my husband had a nice one night stay here. There is no elevator, so may not suit for big luggage, as we had to take stairs only. Anyhow, would recommend this place."
"We stayed overnight as a stopover on our way to Canberra.
Generally a good budget hotel given the price is less than 100 for a night, with distinct strength and weakness:
- Service was good, the attendant led us to the room and briefly introduced the facilities in the hotel.
- Close to the main street, car spaces are ample.
- Bathrooms are clean.
However, there're something need to be mentioned:
- Only a mini fridge in the public space
- Trucks may go through the main street at night, you may hear sound when sleeping
- Mosquito exists in the room in summer : ( may need mosquito coil / repellent. (I picked up the repellent from the car before sleeping)"
"It was the last place available during the Christmas break while we passed through as our original plans fell through and while it was the least expensive option, we got what we paid for (plus the traditional Christmas period tax)
- Positives -
The service we got was great - it was a simple here is my name - there is your key - Just what I like.
The pool was small but popular with the families there and there as well as lots of people outside of their units having great chats with their neighbours.
The water was hot and while you could tell when other rooms turned their showers on, the pressure dropped a little but the heat stayed consistent.
the rooms were clean and did not smell of cigarettes although there was an ashtray outside our window
- Negatives -
The AC was probably a late 80's early 90's model and is in desperate need of an upgrade - Sadly it was a really hot night and while the AC was a cool savior in the night, the price we paid was a front seat to an industrial engine droning all night long. I have been to Rock gigs that were quieter than the volume of the AC - But even when I cracked it and turned it off, you could still clearly hear the neighbours jet engines preparing for take-off next door. To say I had a restful sleep would be a lie.
The Windowframe in the bathroom was rotted away
There was no stopper/gasket in the sink, to which my toothbrush was an unfortunate victim - Swallowed up and delivered to the bin.
With that said - we got what we paid for. If you are looking for cost-effective accomodation close to the centre of Bega I would 100% recommend you stay here if its not going to be a really hot/cold night. If you have a few coins extra I'd check out other accommodation and check if they had a more modern split-system. It might give you the 8hrs you so desperately seek!"
