Holiday Inn Express BICESTER by IHG ★★★★

"Exceeded my expectations! The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and provided excellent service. The room was spacious with good amenities. Most importantly, it had air conditioning, which was a lifesaver in this scorching June! I finally got a good night's rest after a string of accommodations without AC on this trip."

Travelodge Bicester Cherwell Valley M40 ★★★

"We stayed here for one night with our one-year-old daughter and our dog. While the location was convenient and we appreciate that this is a busy service station, unfortunately the room itself made for a very uncomfortable stay. Our room was on the second floor and was extremely hot, with only one window able to be opened and just one fan provided. There was very little opportunity for the heat to escape, and the room remained uncomfortably warm throughout the night. With a young child and a dog, this was particularly difficult and we even had to use a wet towel to help keep our dog cool. When I mentioned this to reception at checkout, I was told that we could have booked a cooler room downstairs. However, I had checked this before booking and was unable to book a downstairs room. The beds and pillows were also very uncomfortable, which did not help with the heat. At around 3am, there was also a large group of very loud cars revving their engines outside. We were aware when booking that this was a busy service station, and therefore expected some noise, particularly as we were given a front-facing room, so we don’t consider this entirely the hotel’s fault. However, combined with the heat and uncomfortable bed, it made for a very poor night’s sleep. Overall, the room was simply far too hot and uncomfortable. In our experience, I would not recommend staying here during warmer weather, particularly when temperatures are above around 20°C, unless you can guarantee a cooler downstairs room. Unfortunately, we would not stay again."
