"Booked this hotel as a cheap resort, the staff were okay, When i checked in they took an extra fee of 6 euros, i feel like this should be stated in the final price at checkout. The location is kind of sketchy, the hotel has 2 separate buildings, one is where the check in takes place, the actually room i was staying in was located in an apartment complex across the street, the main door is unlocked and a second door where a key is needed. The air conditioning was not working, in the winter porto is cold and raining which wasnt nice to come back to after a day outside. The ceiling has a smoke detector which had been hanging off and not secured on which looked messy. Behind the bed there was lots of dust. No toothpaste but they had shampoo. I was having trouble with the lock when i returned on my first day, I had to walk back across the street in the evening, there was no reception staff so when i rang the bell the cleaner came out. the way she greeted me seemed like I had interrupted her in something more important than the fact i couldnt access my room with my belongings. I guess that is the price I have to pay if I book a cheap hotel, if its too good to be true then its most likely not worth it."

"I can highly recommend the apartments at Thomaz Palace. Ours was very clean, had a comfortable bed, a well stocked kitchen with all catering equipment, even a washing machine and dishwasher. Provided coffee pods and tea bags too. Maria met us on arrival and couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. Also let us hold our bags there when we went to visit Taylor’s after checking out. Supermarket around the corner and great food options/restaurants nearby. We had a lovely stay - A little bit of a walk from the old town, but not too far (15 mins), and public transport available. Great place to stay."

"This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way! They offer complimentary airport pick-up and even dropped me off in the city center for free (which was a huge help, especially as a solo female traveler). The driver for the pick-up was incredibly friendly – 100 thumbs up! 👍🏻 The room was beautifully designed and spotless, and it put my mind at ease knowing all the amenities were disinfected. 😊 Plus, the hotel provided a lovely welcome gift (fruit and cookies), which was such a thoughtful touch. I highly recommend it to everyone!"

"It's convenient as you can get there from the airport without having to change metro lines. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the tourist center, but that's within acceptable limits. There's also a supermarket nearby. There are only two shared bathrooms and toilets, so you may have to wait depending on the time of day."
