The Pink Cottage started as a fishing shack in 1955, the year after hurricane Hazel. In 1968 the 2 bedrooms and a bathroom were added. Also the back porch was enclosed and the kitchen was added including a large deck facing the water. In 2021 the shack was completely renovated and became The Pink Cottage. An enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water was added. The kitchen is fully furnished including a dishwasher. The pink cottage overlooks Montgomery Slough with its tidal creek where at low tide the many species of birds feed, at high tide watch for the dolphins. You may access the Slough at 17th Place West where you can catch your own shrimp, crab, or just explore the marsh with all its abundant life. You can also launch your kayak from this access.
