Aso District Hotels with Breakfast

The hotel was very quick to respond to my last-minute requests for extra guests and shuttle service. All the staff were friendly, and the meals were delicious. The bedding was clean, which was a plus, and the onsen (hot spring) was well-maintained, so I'd highly recommend it to other travelers. A unique feature is that they also have facilities for pets, so it seems you can bring your dog along. Their mascot, N-chan, was incredibly cute; I just wanted to keep looking at her!

Really nice place to stay in, exclusive experience, you don’t really need to do any onsen hoping if you stay here, one private onsen booking per day which means 2 booking for one night stay and you have got guest only public onsen which alternate each day. They were kind enough to accommodate our vegetarian diet even though they weren’t too happy about that because they had to change their whole menu, so I would suggest checking with them before making the booking. Overall, definitely worth it.

I love the interior of this resort. The staff members are really friendly and helpful. I had little knowledge in selecting local onsen resort, so my initial expectation was not high. Much to my surprise, I love everything this hotel has had. Facility wise everything looks brand new. The room is spacious and comfy. The public bath and indoor onsen are big and clean. As for the meals, the presentations were good and they were delicious. I have no complaint about it. Keep up with the good work. Look forward to staying there again.

Nice very warm room (we have been there in January). The onsen is small and shallow. Outside, there's a view of bamboo and the river. The kaiseki dinner was varied and delicious, and breakfast was also great. The hotel staff is pleasant and eager to help. If you arrive at Kurokawa Onsen by bus, when you get off at the stop, go down the stairs and you'll find the hotel entrance right there (there's no sign at the top near the stop).

Traveling as a family of four, we booked this inn primarily for its private onsen, and the experience far exceeded our expectations. The inn boasts 8 private baths, so there's no need to rush or share – you can soak whenever you like, which is especially convenient for families traveling with seniors. We took turns trying out several different styles, both open-air and indoor. After soaking, our skin felt incredibly smooth. The sound of the stream in the valley and the birdsong was incredibly therapeutic. The stay included two meals, dinner and breakfast. The Bungo beef BBQ for dinner was substantial, and the elders thoroughly enjoyed it. The onsen egg and local miso soup for breakfast were also very authentic. It's about a 3-hour bus ride from Fukuoka; the mountain roads are winding but offer beautiful scenery. Our whole family unanimously rated it highly. This night at Kurokawa Onsen was the most relaxing part of our trip. It's perfect for families who want a quiet hot spring experience without being disturbed.

26.1.27-28 I was so happy staying at Shikinosato Hanamura. The facilities, including a Japanese-style tatami room and a private bath, were as expected (perfect for one man, but a bit cramped for two). The kotatsu and futon were perfect, and everything was satisfying. However... I felt the food was below average. After enjoying the cave and open-air bath in the large bath(?), I expected a delicious meal, but it was so Japanese that I couldn't finish the entire meal. (This is also true for Kurokawa Onsen, but it's wise to shop at a convenience store or supermarket in the city before going in.) Anyway, except for the food, I was satisfied with everything. I even bought a salt cleanser.

Our ryokan stay was overall a really enjoyable experience. The room and view were amazing, we booked one of the newly built room types, which leaned more towards a modern Western-style design while still keeping the ryokan atmosphere. The room was beautiful, and comfortable. Amenities were thoughtfully provided, and we were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary minibar with a variety of drinks, crafted drip coffee bags, and even in-room draft beer, which was a huge plus for us. The meals exceeded our expectations as well. Portions were very generous and everything we had was goo, making both dinner and breakfast a highlight of the stay. The in-room onsen did have a slightly unusual smell, which is probably due to the natural mineral content of the hot spring water, though it may take some getting used to. The main downside, which we were already aware of before booking, was the location. The ryokan is about 30–40 minutes from Kurokawa Onsen Village, and there is only one shuttle service timing per day. This made our schedule quite restricted, so it would be much better if they could offer more shuttle time options for guests. As for the service, the staff were generally friendly and helpful despite the language barrier. Only one of the staff members spoke English clearly enough for easy communication, but everyone still tried their best to assist us.

I stayed at Yumerindo Hanadomari from the 15th to the 16th, and I had a double room in the annex Hanadomari. After booking, I emailed my questions, and the hotel staff answered each and every one of them with utmost sincerity. Above all, the staff were incredibly friendly. Everyone at the hotel explained everything in detail and went out of their way to provide convenience for Korean tourists. The food was delicious, and I loved both the private hot spring bath in my Hanadomari room and the open-air hot spring bath. I would definitely return, and I'd love to visit the Aso region of Japan again, if only to stay at this hotel.

The resort location is accessible actually by bus from tateno 立野 station and the last bus is in the evening you may check the timetable online. We did not drive and leaving the accommodation is less convenient because all taxis were booked out but the staff was very friendly as to driving us to the nearby train station to continue our journey to Aso Volcano. Service was good. The private onzen was amazing and we were able to use it for one hour. The public bath was good too but the amenities they provided inside were not as enough, eg they don't have comb for ladies and make up removing pads. Other than that, cleanliness was amazing and staff were friendly, rooms had amazing Mountain View's.

The main plus this location , if you want to be quiet alone with nature ... Early in the morning even the deer breakfasted opposite our terrace 🦌 The common swimming pools were very much liked , the water was hot as you wanted . The room in Japanese style was taken and it corresponds to the mood , I wanted to enter Japanese culture . The hotel owners helped us in this 🙏 All staff very kind . Food is very delicious , for two nights different menus . Thank you the chef of the chef 🙏 It was my birthday and I spent a great time . The Recan fulfilled our expectations 💫
