Monopoli Hotel Bukittinggi ★★★
"Love the location of the hotel, right opposite the malls and shopping streets. Breakfast spread not bad, but i wished they change the menu daily. By the third day i was quite bored with the selection. The staff were friendly and nice. But i think they can improve to stop taking everyone’s passport for data protection. Don’t understand why need everyone’s passport when other hotels are not doing the same though. They also really strict and check that the towels are not “taken”. I had asked for extra towel but they didnt deliver, so i took one from my mother’s room next door. Upon checkout was shocked to hear that we needed to pay an amount for the missing towel. Hmm, this is something again that other hotels don’t practice. Generally the hotel is old, think they can do better on the maintenance of the facilities."

"Stayed here recently and loved the location. It’s just a 5-minute walk to Jam Gadang and the markets. The rooms are clean, the water pressure & water heater in the toilet are good and the staff is very welcoming. It’s a Syariah hotel, so the vibe is quiet and family-friendly. Great value if you want to be right in the heart of Bukittinggi."
