"The waterfront areas are pretty, the bed was comfortable, and there's abundant wildlife. The pool is nice. The restaurant across the street, which is not associated with the hotel, is good. Cahuita is a nice town that seems to have good dining options. Maybe there are some nicer rooms, or maybe it was much nicer several years ago? The room I was in needed a lot of repairs and better cleaning."

Happy hour from 5 to 6 with two for one cocktails wonderfully made by Conrad! Fun, laid-back stay. Comfortable beds manicured grounds very secure for guests and parking, two pools with outdoor shower. Very attentive staff that speak acceptable english. We are coming back soon! Colin N"

"Just on the way to the airport after staying two weeks here! I cannot recommend this place highly enough . The rooms are lovely great comfy bed and spacious. Room was cleaned beautifully daily. Above all though a massive shout out to sebastian and javier these guys just go the extra mile with everything nothing was too much trouble so thankyou both you really helped to make our stay unforgettable🥰best wishes the Dennis family xxx"

This of course means no AC, and the room gets sweltering hot, but by early morning cools down appreciably. Beautiful garden surroundings belie the constant hum of traffic on the nearby highway. Great communication from the management, although please note, there is no reception desk. Quite expensive considering the distance from town."

"The staff, the grounds and the pool are all excellent.The wildlife in the grounds is varied and interesting. The cabana we had was not very good. It was advertised as having a hot tub/ jacuzzi. It did, but there was no plug and a merry dribble of usually tepid hot water. We were there for 5 nights and the bed linen was not changed during that time. It is a shame that I can only rate the place average but the accommodation deserves no more."

"I spent my 50th birthday here. It was my favourite hotel of the 5 we stayed at during 2 weeks in Costa Rica. The staff are truly lovely and made the entire stay a joy. Special shout out to the lady who checked us in and out, and also to the young gardener who always stopped to say hello and even pointed out fruits that were edible in the garden. Everyone speaks English but if you can offer up a bit of Spanish then the interactions are fantastic. The place is spotlessly clean, the 2 pools are lovely and if you’re quiet enough then you’ll often be joined by a few lizards and frogs (on the side, not in the water!) which is really special. Breakfast is great - fruit, followed by toast and then eggs. You are no more than 10min walk from the nearest restaurants. There’s a cocktail happy hour each day - the caipirinhas are great. We had the suite which is essentially the whole top floor of the main building - HUGE veranda, 2 bedrooms, great aircon, mozzie nets, very comfortable bed, good shower. The nearest beach is around 10mins left of the hotel entrance, or you can access the beaches in the national park (where we saw more wildlife than anywhere else on our entire trip) - the park is around a 15min walk, right of the entrance and walk through the village. Finally, yes they have a resident 2 toed sloth! Excellent hotel and I really hope I can stay there again one day"

"The place is good, however they make things quite uncomfortable for the client, first of all they charge and send messages saying that due to non-payment they will cancel the reservation and also request to arrive between 3 and 6 p.m. to check-in, that really bothers a lot especially if you come from San José, they have to offer a competent service, not make life more complicated for the clients, taking into account the amount of money they charge, the same is with breakfast, from 7 to 8 a.m. And only at that time, who wants to get up at that time to have breakfast? They make everything more complicated and I don't see a logical reason, for what they charge they should have a more competent service in those aspects. In addition, the water in the bathrooms smells very bad, and the noise passes a lot between rooms, to the point of having to speak in a low voice, zero privacy. "

"First and formeost, much love to Gaia, our host. She is one of those quiet professionals who gets things done and doesn't make a fuss. Yet everything falls into place with little overt effort. The facility is perfect, charming, rustic, and definitely built with the environment in mind. If you are in Cahuita for adventures, this spot will welcome you after a long day out with an inviting hammock on its generous patio. Plus our unit had a small, functional kitchen with a four burner propane stovetop and full-size (for Costa Rica) fridge. Beds were comfy, a/c cool, and the windows allowed for a breeze during the day. Shower big enough for a big dude, we enjoyed being indoors as much as out. If you pick this place, you'll likely want to come back. We sure will. Thanks to all the staff and their commitment to preserving their beautiful environment."
