Host was very tentative and gave us recommendations for restaurants. The breakfast was perfect for the next leg of our cycle. Highly recommend staying here. Would stay again."

"We stayed at this hotel during our 4-day stay in Chinon at the end of July 2024. Quiet hotel💪, very clean🤩, no carpet in the rooms 👍, very close to a charging station for our electric vehicle. The buffet breakfast, made with local and homemade products, is of high quality. Tables, chairs, clean deckchairs arranged in the well-flowered, shaded and relaxing pleasure garden 😉"

"Warm welcome and check-in by a very kind gentleman. Medium-small sized room with dated but well-preserved furniture. Our friends' room was very small, without a wardrobe and the shower was "closed" by a curtain! So be careful which room you are assigned. Comfortable bed. Clean rooms even if there was a constant "stale" smell in the room, probably due to the carpet. Bathroom needs fixing in some details such as the shower head was not still, it slipped downwards, some chipped tiles, etc. Shampoo and shower gel given with an eyedropper. No hair dryer in the room. Only sweet foods for breakfast. Sore point especially for older people: no lift and a narrow wooden spiral staircase. Positive: free private parking. Overall good value for money."

Ibis Styles Chinon ★★★

"The hotel is your basic Ibis hotel, the room was a decent size with a coach that doubles as a pull out bed. Very comfortable and clean. Shower over the bath with good water pressure (I have thick long hair so it's important that I can actually wash and rinse it!) The room had a balcony and we paid for the view of the fortress (shame about the building works going on in front of the hotel). The hotel has a restaurant which is open for breakfast and dinner and measures have been put into place to meet the COVID-19 restrictions. The room next to us had a huge dog staying with them and who also joined them for breakfast. I didn't hear the dog, he was on their balcony and was peering over the wall at me! So the walls must be a little sound proof. The hotel had a covered pool,you need to ask the front desk for towels. I found the pool cold, but it is heated. Biggest issue was the parking, the spaces are extremely narrow. It is impossible to park next to another car and get my daughter out of her seat in the back of our car."

"Stayed here as part of a cycle trip along Loire. The hosts were very helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Room decorated in beautiful French style and very clean. No air-conditioning but excellent fan! Breakfast very fresh and tasty and they started serving at 7:15, which suited us perfectly. It was the best room / stay we had during our entire trip - just a shame it was only one night."

"A Perfect Stay We stayed 2 nights at the guesthouse of Maurice, the host, who was personable, always accommodating, and extremely attentive. Maurice completely renovated this 13th century structure with the utmost care and excellent taste. Our room was large for French guest rooms and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was sumptuous and is served in an elegant dining room. Maurice makes sure he attends to every detail in order to make breakfast a delightful experience. The location is perfect for exploring the sights of Chinon. If you plan to stay in Chinon, don’t go to a hotel, you will be glad that you chose to stay with Maurice. Parking is available and pets are welcome."
