Onomo Hotel Durban
"I really liked the place, it was very comfortable"
Blue Waters Hotel
"My second stay at this hotel, great location close to restaurants and a walk away from the beach. Also close to South Coast Casino and Lalucia Mall (Umhlanga. I enjoy their breakfast, the hotel was nice and clean and my last stay with my family was enjoyable. We enjoyed the skypool on the rooftop."
Suncoast Hotel & Towers
"The hotel is clean and smells good. It is in a good location with a direct enterance into Suncoast. The room we were given was not the room that was showed in the pictures. The room should have had a bathtub as seen on the pictures for the room on trip.com, but the room does not have a bathtub. It's very disappointing considering that I booked it for the bathtub. When I went to ask reception about it, all she did was say that it is trip.com's fault for using the wrong pictures. She then offered me a room with a bathtub, but we had to pay more. I didn't take her offer, how can they ask a customer to pay more when they made the mistake and have the product shown incorrectly? The room did not have toothbruhes. I had to ask at reception for two toothbrushes, they only gave me one and said that they will send another one to the room later. The toothbrush never came. At check in I had signed for room 327, but at that time the room was not ready. Eventually while we waited we got the key cards and it had two numbers written on the envelope- 327 and 329. 327 had a single line going through it so we naturally assumed the room is 329.The door didn't open when we inserted the card into 329 but it did open on room 327. While we were sitting in the room I was contacting trip.com's customer service and someone else just managed to open the door with their card. Later, the reception called us and told us to just stay in that room because they had messed up. There is some construction happening on the one floor of the hotel and it is an eyesore to look at from the upper level, tiles are removed there id furniture still there covered in dust. Overall, this hotel is extremely overpriced and the location is not enough to justify the highprice. Other hotels charge less and actually have rooms with bathtubs as advertised. Stay here if you are looking for disappointment and a money waster."
The Balmoral - Halaal
"The location and the quality of service beachfront that's the best moment, we enjoy and we coming back soon"
Parade Hotel
"Good location , next to the see , big room and was cleanThe breakfast was delicious .A good welcome at the reception. They back up generator when there is load shedding. I enjoyed my stay there."
Belaire Suites Hotel
"Very good staff, good location, spacious nicely decorated room and perfect breakfast."
The Edward
"Pleasant stay - Monday and Tuesday 19 and 20 Feb 2024. Was greeted by a porter who assisted with suitcase from where I had parked my car across the road. Check in staff were friendly and efficient. I decided to park my car in the underground parking offered by the hotel which does come at an extra cost. Both porter and reception staff were realistic around security and gave good advice. The hotel while positioned "centrally" along the Durban beachfront is more on the south side and just one block away from the main street from the city centre and this street corner does attract all sorts of individuals. If going for a walk - make sure all valuables like cell phones / wallets/ purse are not visible - tuck these under clothes. Also don't wear flash jewellery or fancy watches. Room was spacious and clean - comes with a small balcony. I was somewhat concerned in being allocated a room on the first floor where I would be disturbed by noise from the street. This did not happen - room is fairly sound proofed and there was no disturbance at night, so slept well - but noting that I stayed on a Monday and Tuesday - not sure if the same silence would be experienced over a weekend. The airconditioner was silent and worked well. Bathroom was somewhat scanty with toiletries given that this is marketed as an upmarket hotel - in fact the Blue Waters - north of the beachfront has an offer more toiletries and gives guests chocolates and large bottle of water on arrival. No chocolate and the smallest bottle of water is provided which you find in the bathroom. As I did not make use of the small water bottle offered it is not known if this small bottle gets replaced each day. I brought in my own water bottles as a I prefer 1.5 litres. Hot water from shower is almost instant so all good from that point of view. Wifi was a little unstable but that is because of load shedding that is being experienced by country. The food from the dining room / restaurant if you want to eat lunch or dinner at the hotel is good and delicious. The breakfast buffet is quite varied with lots of choices."

Cowrie Cove Guest House
"My partner and I had a fantastic time at this 5 star guesthouse. The place is beautiful, the owner and staff were very welcoming. The trail to the beach was thoughtfully made making the entire experience magical. Would definitely recommend"
Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! Durban Umhlanga Ridge
"The hotel is in a great location and the staff were helpful and friendly. I didn't particularly like the restaurant/ room service menu as it ONLY had milkshakes on their drinks menu. You have to inquire about other drinks like wine, juices, coffee etc. It would be nicer if all the drinks prices were listed. The kettle in my room was dirty but housekeeping and the front desk were apologetic and replaced it with a clean kettle quickly. Every cafe or restaurant around the hotel opens at 9a.m, so I recommend paying for the hotel breakfast buffet if you're an early bird like me. I learnt about loadshedding after coming back from a day out and finding no power except a light and the tv in my room. For foreign guests who don't know about it, it might be a nice touch if the hotel could place the loadshedding schedule in guest rooms so it doesn't come as an unwelcome surprise. The bed was comfy and the wifi was usually fast. Overall, I had a good stay at the hotel."
Hilton Garden Inn Umhlanga Arch
"A great hotel with a great breakfast buffet"

First Group The Palace All-Suite
"I am so angry and disappointed, the receptionist stole my swim wear and sunglasses. I then asked to view the cctv with Buhle the general manager, from Friday 26 July, he was not available for Me to meet up on Sunday I called again with no follow up. Still he was not available. The steal and management is covering up for the staff. I came here five years again the service was the best. And to find this new team I regret even going to this place, . Always check your belongings.. Buhle the manager was mo help at all..."
The Riverside Hotel
"The noise from restaurant and reception makes it impossible to sleep..Staff walk around and shout at the top of their voices. Guests at the restaurant laugh like hyenas all night Rooms are nice except for this noise situation. Grounds are ok. Reception and restaurant are very near the rooms which makes it impossible to sleep "
Protea Hotel Durban Umhlanga
