"This place was perfect! Super Cute, Close to town, Immaculate level of clean and handsomely appointed. Lots of amenities present like Chocolates and Bath Salt. They have wonderful staff who care about the hotel, it shows. It was quiet but still had a lot of activities like cornhole and frisbee golf, among others and BBQs. This property exceeded my expectation and rivals other accommodations at higher price points."

"I originally was hesitant to stay here but it was a very pleasant experience! Staff was very friendly and my room was clean and cozy. I stayed in one of the micro rooms which ended up perfect for me as a single traveler. I would for sure make sure you are aware of the size of the room you are staying in before you make your reservation. When I first went in my room it smelled very nice! I always worry about how rooms will smell, especially in smaller places. And it was also nice that it didn’t smell like a fragrance used to cover up smells. I was there for 4 nights and it smelled nice the whole time. Also the AC worked amazingly. It wasn’t very hot while I was there, but in the 70s and I have to sleep pretty cold. Overall I felt safe and the room was relatively quiet. You could occasionally hear the people in the room next to me but it was not bothersome. And one of the best parts is they actually have a fan in the bathroom! I plan on staying here whenever I’m traveling alone. You can’t beat the price of the micro rooms!"

"My wife and I took time away from our Seattle visit to take the Anacortes-Friday Harbor Ferry (a relaxing, beautiful 75-minute journey) to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. As a pianist, it was easy to choose the B&B Friday Harbor Grand on the basis of the sign. This turned out to be a fabulous choice. We visited on Sunday/Monday nights before the rush of the summer season." Many restaurants were closed early in the week, but even during a relatively slow time, the B&B was full on a Sunday evening. The innkeeper/owner, Farhad Ghatan, is a great host. He lovingly restored and added to the hillside home. He maintains about two dozen egg-laying chickens in the backyard, providing fresh eggs at breakfast along with homemade breads and fruit. The breakfasts are a perfect start to the day. The living room has an excellent restored early-20th-century Steinway Grand and a harpsichord. At night, promptly at 7:30 after serving wine, Farhad plays classical piano with commentary for an hour. He's a capable amateur pianist who also serves as the island's piano tuner, among other things. He also served as Friday Harbor's mayor. It's a relaxing way to unwind at the end of the day. If you also happen to play, he'll invite you to add your talents to the listening experience. The room accommodations are first-rate. He has six rooms to choose from. We had the Orcas View Suite. The rooms are equipped with a fridge, microwave, kitchenware, and a Keurig coffee maker. Our room had a private balcony with an outdoor view towards the harbor. As with the rest of the house, the wood floors are warmed with authentic Persian rugs. While there are other options on the island, we highly recommend Friday Harbor Grand and would re-book the next time we visit. Book early."

"Really run down compared to the photos. They need to update the place. Outside has junk and tarps everywhere. Grounds were not clean or well kept. Breakfast was ok Never saw the host other than breakfast. This place looked great but has really fallen apart."
