"Staying here at the moment in a lovely, spacious apartment on the ground floor. The staff are really friendly and helpful, although we haven't needed to call on them much. The apartment has all the usual equipment, fridge, kettle, coffee machine, hairdryer, pots, pans, etc. Towels and sheets are changed every couple of days, the apartment is cleaned daily (except Sunday), and it is a short (3-4 minute) walk to the beach. There is no pool, but we never use one on holiday if there is a beach. Lots of tavernas and bars are just a short walk, and the nearest two are recommended. The place is quiet, and the gardens lovely. All in a very relaxing and beautiful place to stay. I would recommend this place very highly."

"My husband & I arrived here on 03/06/26. We arrived early afternoon & our room was ready straight away. Our room was situated over-looking the small garden area. The room was lovely; very clean! Very comfortable bed, plenty of storage space for clothes etc, a fridge & a small kitchenette with hob & kettle. We were half board & you could digger have your main meal as lunch or dinner which helped with flexibility for days out. The pool area is very well maintained & clean. We found every hour to be happy hour with a lovely choice of cocktails & long drinks. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of fresh fruit. The hotel is 5 min walk from the town square & 2 min walk from the lovely beach. Now the staff! Staff were so helpful, warm & friendly. Special mention to Despina & Stela on reception who helped us with our questions & got us booked to do a trip to Lake Kournas. Nothing was too much trouble for these ladies. The hotel has an outdoor spa & offers massages. Massages were very reasonably priced, with a mention to Sindy who was excellent. We were here 5 nights & loved this hotel & would happily return on a future holiday. Thank you!"

"A beautiful hotel and resort. Booked a double ‘superior’ room with private pool. Although when we got here, the staff member who greeted us, didn’t believe the room that we had booked. And tried to get us into a swim up room, which we refused and stuck to our guns and got the room we wanted. Knee deep in German tourists, felt very in the minority. They weren’t all friendly, in fact very rude and quite insular and just keeping to themselves or other Germans. The rooms are supposed to be non smoking, but we were next to a couple of whom one of them smoked. A laundry and dry cleaning service is listed on amenities, but when we asked at reception they said no. Breakfast was nice, although def again catering for German tourists, who seem to congregate in the bread aisle. Choices of some vary every day, good choice provided, but mini frankfurters etc . No decent sausages, and bacon was ok but a bit limp and lifeless. Plenty of restaurants etc outside the hotel, trying to vary where we eat dinner each night. Trips available to various parts of Crete. Our miaid Rudima was great, very quick and efficient. Phone in room didn’t work, and when we told reception they didn’t seem too bothered. Would it have been different if we were German I wonder? Tv in the room could be better place above the bed, sink in room couldn’t work out how to close plug to use. We are here for another week, so far so good. But they def need to look at what is listed on Trio advisor in terms of facilities / services and correct. Also English tourists like to go on Holiday, Harmony Boutique Resort. Don’t forget about us"

"My girlfriend and I stayed here just over a year ago and it was absolutely exceptional in every way. A huge and special Thankyou to Jenny, who genuinely treated us like a member of her family from the minute we got there to the minute we left. A year down the line and I still think about the level of service , and as someone who has stayed in so many great hotels, nothing has even come close. To have the owner of the hotel be that close to the guests is not only refreshing, but a true reflection of the love she has for her job. The hotel itself is stunning and in my opinion the best in the area if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing break. If you are ever staying in the area this hotel is an absolute must. The fact that this hotel doesn’t have an official 5* rating boarders on offensive, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, the towels are changed as often as you need. Will definitely be back"

"We had a wonderful week at the Athena. Loved the quiet location just a short walk from the shops, tavernas, square and beach. The apartments are top notch, with generous size balconies and comfortable, modern patio furniture. The Athena is spotlessly clean, everything is in very good condition and well maintained. The pool is a real asset, set as it is, in peaceful gardens. We found Matina and her son to be such lovely hosts; warm, friendly, helpful and welcoming. We would definitely recommend!"

"Fantastic hotel! We had a 1 bed apartment rather than a studio and it was really spacious. Very comfortable and had everything we needed, plenty of hot water, well stocked kitchen for plates, pans etc. and enough to cook a few meals. Also, toaster, kettle and coffee maker, full size fridge and 2 ring hob. Bathroom was well designed and modern, clean plenty of fresh towels. Bed was super comfortable and plenty of storage for clothes. Cleaning was immaculate and the lady was lovely. The staff were all fantastic, helped when needed and offered great advice. Rena was so lovely! The location is very central but the apartments are well designed so you had privacy. Gardens are so beautiful! Next time we are in Georgioupolis we will certainly stay here! 100%recommended! "

"07/07/26 Having returned from a weeks stay at the Georgioupolis Beach Hotel, I am happy to write a review. We had an amazing week, with a great welcome on arrival. Instant relaxation by the pool or the beach over the road. It’s a smallish hotel so not too busy or noisy. The hotel is clean, the room we stayed in had a lovely view of the beach. The shower pressure was perfect. All of the team were easy to deal with and had a great can do attitude. We were full board, the food is delicious, plenty of choice from local dishes and international options. The small town has many tavernas if you want to try somewhere different eat or drink. All within walking distance. Antonio (the boss) is around and asks if you are happy etc, which makes a difference from other hotels. An excellent week with no complaints. We will definitely return and recommend the Georgioupolis Beach hotel."

"From the moment we arrived we was welcomed with open arms by the lovely Jenny. Hotel is spotlessly clean and we were upgraded to a swim up room which was absolutely amazing! Could not fault the hotel, beds were extra comfy and bathroom and shower is amazing. House keeping was excellent and visited everyday keeping our room spotlessly clean! Breakfast was perfect and you could choose from various items such as eggs, bacon, beans, toast, cereal, fresh fruit and tea and coffee. Pool very peaceful with amazing sun loungers, again this area was spotlessly clean. Location of the hotel is fantastic and close to everything including a small supermarket next door. Beach is only a few minutes walk. We would definitely return and could not ask for a better holiday"

"This hotel is a gem in Georgioupoli, such a clean hotel/apartment with friendly welcoming staff. It has a lovely pool area which we virtually had to ourselves, very unusual these days. There is a charge for air conditioning and safe but worth paying. With so much on your doorstep i.e restaurants, bars, supermarket, you don’t need to venture far. I would definitely recommend the Athena Hotel and will be returning."
