We enjoyed our time at this hotel. Despite being very full on a holiday weekend, our room was almost completely silent and the upgraded suite we had was enormous with all kinds of useful space, especially in the bathroom which even with a giant tub, a separate shower and 2 sinks, still had a TON of open space. Parking was very convenient and not too expensive. We didn't try the breakfast or pool/hot tub but everything appeared to be working well.

We booked this hotel specifically because of their relationship with Roswell,Park Cancer Center. They offer a special rate for families and patients. They are flexible with reservations as anything can change in the world of cancer treatment. Sebastian, the shuttle driver was kind in leading us to parking at Roswell and then driving us to Anchor Bar where we ate our first night. The bed is the most comfortable one we have slept in when staying in a hotel, While the restaurant remains closed and breakfast is limited we were even surprised that breakfast was included. Lots of restaurants in walking distance and shuttle is available.

Personally, I found this place to be regrettable and not worth what I paid, which was nearly $500 for one person for one night. (I was later told something about ”surge rates.”) Before getting ti the hotel, I went online and saw that rooms were a little over $200 on multipletravel booking sites. But when I get to the hotel, the front desk person, who was less than cordial, tells me that the only room they have is over $400. Now, I had traveled far to get there, it was raining, and I was exhausted, but I asked her again if there was anything else and she told me no, they were booked. Now, mind you, this was Buffalo on a Monday night. So, I reluctantly took the room because that's all they had, she said. I get to the room and there's crumbs all over the table and chairs and there's a strange stain on the bathroom door. I thought it'd be a little bit tidier for room that's over $400. The whole experience is nothing special. So, then when I call back the next day because I checked the websites again and all the travel sites say the rooms are a little over $200, I'm told that they have ”surge rates” or ”surge pricing” -- whatever that is! -- and that they were fully booked on a Monday in Buffalo. So, the whole thing was just an unfortunate and regrettable experience, and I never would stay there again, especially when I get my bill and a one-night stay for one person was nearly $500. Then when I checked out, the check out was just as unfriendly as when I checked in. Very bizarre experience for a Marriott Hotel.
The Hotel Lafayette has been welcoming guests for over 119 years and continues to be a historical and architectural landmark for the City of Buffalo. A handsome red brick and white terra cotta French Renaissance-style building it was designed principally by Louise Blanchard Bethune of the respected Buffalo architectural firm of Bethune Bethune and Fuchs. She was the first professional woman architect in the country the first female member of the American Institute of Architects and the first woman to be made a Fellow of the A.I.A.The Hotel Lafayette opened its doors in June 1904 and was immediately hailed as one of the fifteen finest hotels in the United States. With hot and cold running water in all bathrooms and telephones in all rooms the seven-story hotel offered the best that science art and experience can offer for the comfort of the traveling public. Soon after an addition doubled the size of the hotel and fifty years later it was still operating as a luxury 400 room hotel. The hotel underwent a major renovation in the late 1940s introducing many of the Art Deco elements still seen throughout the hotel today.Following decades of hospitality the hotel was faithfully restored in 2012 to return it to its original splendor and welcome a new generation of guests. The Hotel Lafayette is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and currently offers a total of 34 boutique guest rooms each with a unique design and experience. In addition the Hotel offers over 13500 square feet of event space including many original spaces that have been meticulously restored.

The hotel is located in the center of Buffalo, very close to the Civic Center. The hotel is decorated in a classic style. I booked a suite, not including breakfast. The western restaurant on the first floor of the hotel can be ordered by myself. The room is very large, with kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, very much like it! The hotel service is good, the front desk is very welcoming and can store luggage.

This is a hotel with a revitalized part of downtown Buffalo. Within walking distance of both the home of the Sabres as well as home of the Bisons, it makes for a great base if you are going to downtown Buffalo. Right on the metro line and roughly a 20 minute ride from the airport. There are multiple options for food close, including multiple breweries if like me you enjoy your beer. The fitness center is located on the lower level and is adequate but while I didn’t use it, the indoor pool right next to it looked pretty sweet. The rooms are spacious and I wasn’t bothered by noise of any kind. The elevators take some getting used to because there are two that are spaced about 10-15 feet apart but only one button to request the elevator and the fact the staff uses these elevators too was slightly confusing but no biggie once you realized you could use either (the biggest issue being you couldn’t necessarily see which one was coming if you were closer to the other). If I were returning to Buffalo, I would have no issues coming back

When they upgrade you, they do it in a big way. We had a spacious suite which was clean, quiet and comfortable. The gentleman at the front desk made a great recommendation for dinner (Pearl St. Brewing Co) that was just a short walk. I was concerned when we first arrived about panhandlers in the area but didn’t see any when we went to dinner.

Exceptional! Wow! The Westin Buffalo is the nicest hotel we ever stayed at. We originally went to Niagara Falls but it was a horrible experience. Great food and coffee. We plan to continue our stays with Westin for future trips. Thank you Nadine and all of the exceptional staff.

Buffalo's Theater District and Chippewa Entertainment District are within blocks and more than 50 restaurants are within a half a mile.
