"Warm friendly welcome by receptionist. Easy parking. Comfortable bedroom with ensuite facilities, tv, tea and coffee making facilities. Perfect for an overnight stay. Rural location close to motorway. Includes a simple self serve buffet breakfast of cereal. Toast and preserves, tea, coffee, juice. Great value for money. A nearby Indian restaurant with buffet service at £20 per head or a choice of delivery meals we were offered a selection of menus to choose from."

The Hall Farm Bed and Breakfast ★★★

"We arrived at 4pm as instructed. Quite a late check in really. As we walked in we were told the heating didn't come on until 4.30pm. We were also told we had to have breakfast early as they were going out to lunch. We got to the room and It was freezing, 5 degrees. I wanted a shower to get ready to go out for dinner but the only thing we could do was get under the duvet. At 4.30 it was still freezing so I went looking to ask when the heating was coming on. It did come on after 5 minutes but at 5pm was no better. We went to look for the thermostat which was set at 19 degrees !! Eventually we just left to go for dinner in the same clothes just to get in somewhere warm. When we came back at 10pm it was warmer but still not acceptable at this time of year The breakfast was small, one tablespoon of beans half a tomato and a few little mushrooms, bit of bacon and an egg. It was on cold plates and Luke warm. Strangely enough the first thing he said in the morning was were you warm enough. I told him we weren't and how it has totally spoiled or trip to which he replied sorry but the heating doesn't come on till 4.30 and that was that. Not a great attitude for someone on the hospitality industry. Interestingly his side of the house was toasty warm. It's a shame as it could be a great place. Totally ruined our trip away"

"Finch x 20 Our lovely Linda Finch from Ullesthorpe golf club is our organiser. We have been coming to Lakeside Lodge for over 20 years (that tells you something) and as always the staff really really look after us. The food is always excellent, but this year they went up a level. The weather was very hot and some of our ladies happened to say, I don't know how anyone can stand in the kitchen and cook all this tasty food, with this a young man appears behind the bar looking all hot and bothered. We asked him if he was the chef and he said yes he was. His name is CALLAM, he has been working for the company 7 years he told us. Well young man Callam we are so grateful to you for delivering excellent food, it's people like you that give good reputations. The Bar staff were great. Here is to another 20 years"
