"The service was excellent, warm and welcoming. They provided pick-up and drop-off service, complimentary homemade jam at check-out, and even brought two bottles of water knowing we were taking the train.
The facilities were superb. The sauna was especially comfortable, featuring a Finnish sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor hot springs, and a facility I'd never seen before. We didn't see any staff in the sauna and massage area, ensuring excellent privacy, and the facilities were complete. However, note that it's a ”naturalistic” mixed-gender bath.
The restaurant faces Spiez Bay, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, offering picturesque scenery. You can order à la carte items like coffee, fried eggs, and omelets. The breakfast was also delicious.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is very well-maintained; although it's over a century old, it doesn't feel dated at all. Our bay-view room offered stunning views of Lake Thun during the day, the sunset painting the castle in the evening, and the moonlight reflecting on the calm lake at night.
Spiez is a beautiful town, like a paradise. It's very convenient for traveling to Interlaken, Grindelwald, and Zermatt. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I have the opportunity to visit."
