Location was convenient - a little off the busiest part of the town but still walkable especially to the pier and restaurants.

First of all; i was staying in Oban due to car troubles whilst as a key worker nearby. it had been a very long, and very stressful day, and i just wanted to fall into a bed and make the day disappear. But i was met by (perhaps unintentional) hostility at the front desk. Again, not their fault, but on demanding a key letter proof of work - which i had, thankfully, but, after ”can you prove that?” demand, i didn't get a 'sorry i needed to ask' after i handed the letter over. i then felt paranoid for the rest of the night. It didn't help that the heater was very loud and added a constant brrrrrrruuuuuuuuummmmm to the night. i slept, but not as fitfully as i would have liked. Thanks however to the lovely girl the next morning who was much brighter and wished me a good day and all that. That said, the bed was comfy and the shower was brilliant.

I can't tell you about my stay as I booked the wrong dates. As soon as I found out, I phoned The Oyster Inn to cancel but because I used Trip.com, they said there was nothing they could do.
I cancelled on Trip.com and the message said that they'd contacted the hotel to confirm if it was ok to cancel FOC. According to trip.com, no response was forthcoming so my booking was not cancelled. My booking has since been ”completed”. When I contacted the hotel the following day to ask why they had not approved the cancellation, they said trip.com had simply asked for info, not to approve cancellation. Who is lying?
Suffice to say, I will not use trip.com again and have decided to stay elsewhere in Oban.

It is very centrally located with Tesco, M n S big supermarkets just round the corner 5 minutes walk away. Some Car park spaces in front good for free parking after 6 pm to 9 am. For cheapest whole day parking, 7.50 pound can be found near the ferry pier, about 7 mins walk from hotel. Easy access to all restaurants.
Reception is within the bar in Ranald Hotel with manned staff until 11pm.
Cons in room, water shower not consistent in temperature, no washing machine and room lightings can feel too dark. But maybe a lot of lightings in that area are like that…
But all in all will recommend. Comfortable.

JIANYUNA little bit from the train station, so it is quieter. Looking at the sea, sitting in the hotel to see the sea, blue sky and white clouds, very beautiful. The breakfast was good, and the smoked salmon was more delicious than the traditional English breakfast at other hotels. After breakfast, I walked by the beach and saw the rainbow. I walked all the way and saw the rainbow changing. It was a surprise. Going to Scotland, recommending to Auburn, to Auburn, recommend this hotel.

Perfect location close to rail station.Lots of positive points, however hotel was dated in parts, room carpet flooring was unstable so had to exercise caution not to trip and cause injury. Reception staff member Jamie pleasant and most helpful, so was Nicola over the phone the night before check-in. Food could be improved, with a better variety at breakfast, and providing fresh fruit.
Room allocated was not what I expected. Would stay again if better room allocated.

All the front desk personnel are the best asset this hotel has. The place could do with an update of their appliances and furniture in their rooms. Soft furnishings are ok. The cleanliness could be a bit better. They lent me slippers so I could use the steam room and it was a great addition to my stay. Overall I give the place a 3/5.

Nice hotel friendly staff. Not a suitable menu for gluten free traveller so had to go elsewhere where for food. Curtains wouldn't close or open

GilliPConvenient location with lovely views. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice.
We had a family room with a sea view consisting of a double and single bed. It was a very large room and had a sofa, coffee table and TV as well as tea and coffee making facilities tThe staff were great but the hotel decor was a little tired. Parking is limited and cannot be booked in advance. It would be better if disabled drivers could pre-book parking. Parking is £10 a night unless you have a blue badge. There is only one disabled parking space and at the time we visited, some parking spaces were impacted by building works which made it awkward driving in and also took up several spaces.
I would stay there again and recommend.
