Noboribetsu Hotels with Wifi

"Right by Noboribetsu's Jigokudani (Hell Valley) volcano, our room had a sulfurous volcanic smell. You gradually get used to it – but if you absolutely can't stand the rotten egg smell of sulfur, be warned! Overall, it was a great experience. The sulfur hot spring water was very authentic, and there was a good variety of baths. We happened to visit during New Year's and the hotel even had a magic show 🎭 which added to the fun atmosphere! I'd definitely come again!"

"This is one of our best stays - everything is top notch from cleanliness, food, service and the onsen. We booked the type D room with a private onsen - both public and private ones are excellent. The staff can speak reasonable Engliah, very polite, helpful and professional. We like the lady (she is from Chiba) who serves us dinner and breakfast very much! The food quality is very good - well plated, fresh and flavourful. They accommodated my quite last min request for a non-seafood dietary. The ryokan is quiet and we love it a lot (feel more private too). Love the fact that they do not allow shoes into the Ryokan (they will keep them properly for you), as it keep the room and public area clean. We will plan to stay here again (for longer period!)."

"Room is huge as can see from picture. Amenities is lacking in that there is no comb nor shower cap . Only tea bags and toothbrush available at counter near checkin desk. Location is good. Just have to take bus from Noboribetsu station and stop at last stop ¥450. Dinner and breakfast spread is mainly Japanese. No bread serve at breakfast. Overall good."

"Great service from the hotel staff. Hotel room is a little old but it's clean and the bed is comfortable. The highlight of the hotel is definitely the Onsen. They rotate the left & right side of the onsen between male and female everyday. Which is great because you get to view on both side. They have a few different onsen 'pool' - sulfur , salt, iron, cold onsen. The outdoor onsen is best with the waterfall view. The dinner package is definitely worth the money. Beer is not included in the package but the local beer is a must try especially the ipa."

"The service was excellent! Especially the friendly and cheerful young man at the front desk and the lady working in the dining area. They were incredibly helpful, even assisting us with booking a taxi when our original ride didn't show up. The dinner was also incredibly rich and varied. After finishing what I thought was the last course, I almost left, only to discover there were still main courses and dessert! It was quite amusing. Sleeping on a tatami mat was a new experience; the bed was already made for us by dinner time, so we didn't have to worry about a thing. It was also fun for our family of three to stay in one room. The hotel is super close to the Bear Park, just a 3-minute walk. It's also only a 10-minute walk to Jigokudani (Hell Valley), so there's no need to worry about the sulfur smell. Overall, a really great stay!"

"Mahoroba is reportedly the largest hotel in Japan with open-air hot springs, featuring two levels of pools. Each day, two different pools are rotated for men and women, and each level also has a sauna. The outdoor pool on B2 offers stunning views. After a soak, the shower area provides a variety of shampoos, conditioners, body washes, hair masks, lotions, hair serums, and hand creams for guests to use. Although the hotel is a bit older, it maintains a strong Japanese aesthetic, is well-kept, and boasts excellent service. We stayed in a Japanese-style tatami room, where shoes must be removed upon entry. Staff prepare the futons for sleeping on the first day of your stay. We also booked breakfast and dinner, both served buffet-style. There's a wide variety of dishes, and the taste is generally good. The most notable item is the crab served at dinner, and the ramen and soba noodles in the evening are also delicious and a must-try. The hotel is very close to the shopping street, with a 7-Eleven right downstairs. It's also within walking distance of Jigokudani (Hell Valley) and Bear Park. From Bear Park, you can get a panoramic view of Lake Kuttara. Unfortunately, when we visited in early December, Oku-no-yu and Oike Pond were closed due to road closures, so we couldn't go up. We'll definitely come back next time!"

"It was the best facility! The hospitality, service, food, and baths were all truly impressive. The final check-out time was 11:00, but it did get a little crowded. It's not hard to imagine that other guests were enjoying their rooms right up until the last minute. We stayed in November, but I'd like to return in a different season next time. "Great location – just a short walk to Hell Valley and surrounded by lots of restaurants and shops. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Free yukata is provided, so you can walk around the onsen town in style. The best part is the unlimited access to both the inn’s own hot spring and the big Takimotokan Grand Bath. There’s also a bakery in the lobby with fresh bread and coffee. Cons : Wi-Fi is very poor (especially in the rooms), check-out is early at 10am, and the natural sulphur smell from the hot springs is noticeable not only around town but also sometimes in the rooms. Overall, a convenient and affordable stay."

"Beautiful high end ryokan in the center of Noboribetsu. Our room was very large and spotless-it was the size of an apartment with multiple seating and eating areas! The best part was the in-room hot spring bath tub, which we booked and was worth every penny. We highly, highly recommend this! Had an absolutely relaxing stay at this top notch onsen! In the public areas, there were 5 different hot spring pools for the women and four for the men. Each had different temperature settings and different qualities. There were many at the ryokan but the pools were never crowded. It was peaceful and serene sitting outside in the pools. There were many guests at the hotel as it was peak summer season, but the property was very large and spacious, beautifully decorated and laid out that it never felt crowded. Excellent customer service and delicious kaiseki dinner and Japanese breakfast with a buffet table. Would go back for another visit if we are in the area again! Highly recommend this ryokan-you will not be disappointed!"
