GGuest UserService: The service here is incredibly warm and attentive. You can tell that all the staff, from the elderly gentleman at the front desk to the young women and the restaurant servers, genuinely love their work; their smiles are truly heartfelt. When checking in, they offer hot tea and towels and help carry your luggage to the room.
Ambiance: Although it's an annex of Takinoya, located in the onsen town without any special views, it's very convenient to the station, convenience stores, and all the attractions. The entrance to Jigokudani (Hell Valley) is just a 5-minute walk away.
Cleanliness: Despite being open for a while, it's exceptionally clean.
Facilities: After visiting Jozankei and Lake Toya on this trip, we all agreed that the onsen water in Noboribetsu Onsen here is the best. The milky white sulfur springs are incredibly rejuvenating after a soak.
Food: It's a two-meal plan (dinner and breakfast). Although the portions aren't large, they are exquisite and delicious. We loved it!
This small ryokan has a very cozy and welcoming feel. Highly recommended.
GGuest UserFor a weekend 2 day onsen break, this hotel is perfect. Noboreitsu is a small place and the location of this hotel is very good (at the bottom of a hill right next to the bus terminus). The single room itself is small but adequate albeit retro, but the onsen facilities are pretty good and despite the large commercial size of the hotel, the onset is never busy. The breakfast and dinner buffets are decent, but as it barely changes, you will get bored pretty quickly after 2 days. Jikokudani is less than 10 minutes away by foot - if you enjoyed this during the day, it is super-pretty in the evening and the evening walk makes a lovely post-dinner saunter (see photos). You will pass the main shopping street on the way there and back (most shops close at around 9pm). The only downside to the hotel is the sheer number of tour groups that check in/out. 4-6pm and early morning 8-10am are just rammed with tour buses/groups and the hotel lifts are packed as a result.
GGuest UserOur room was spacious and a traditional Japanese tatami style. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent. The beautiful lakeside setting was a definite highlight. The front desk staff were also incredibly patient and helpful, assisting us with taxi bookings. We even got to enjoy a fireworks show in the evening!
YYUEI lived in Noboribetsu and this atrium, and I still prefer this one. If I go to Noboribetsu next time, I will stay there again. On the mountain Noboribetsu, pick-up service at 2:00 and 4:00 pm (pick-up at JR station) is available after booking with the hotel. The hotel is good, just don't like their public slippers (woven straw uppers). If you don't wear socks, you will feel a little sticky, but so is the flower atrium. The open-air style of the house is very good. It is relatively large. You can take a look at the snow on the pine trees while soaking in the hot spring. It feels very natural and much stronger than the open-air style of the flower atrium. I ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel, but it was really bad. This may be my own problem. I am not used to eating. The ice cream at the kiosk downstairs is delicious, you buy it every day, and it's easy to buy water. There is a small park in front of the hotel, the snow is very thick, you can play with snow, and there is no one. It is clean and very comfortable. A 15-minute walk from the hotel is the Noboribetsu ski resort. It is very convenient to play snow and there are very few people. In short, it is quite satisfactory.
