"The hotel environment is very quiet and elegant. While the facilities are a bit old overall, the quality of service was not affected. There are no convenience stores or restaurants around the hotel. If you're not having dinner at the hotel, you can drive to Teshikaga Town, which has quite a few restaurants, about a 20-minute drive. Since we visited in summer, the 20-minute drive was very convenient. I recommend having breakfast at the hotel; it's a Japanese and Western buffet with average quality but a very wide variety of options. The facilities in the rooftop onsen are also quite old. However, the overall environment is still very good."

"This hotel is the first in my heart in the Japanese hotel for the past ten years. The service staff is excellent, modern, high-tech, elegant and clean, the indoor space is large, the outside is close to nature, and the spare parts are super high-end and easy to use.

"My 2-day stay at Kawayu Kanko hotel was very pleasant. While the rooms may look tired, they are spacious and functional (I could do my taiqi exercise in my room!). 3 things I like most about the stay: the staff I interacted with, the onsen and the dinner. Ms Yuka at the front desk spoke perfect English and she gave me the most useful ideas about where to eat and where to go. Thanks to her, I got to learn about the Teshikaga Eco-Passport and got to visit Lake Kussharo (Sunayu area), Lake Mashu and Mt Io by bus, all in one day. Her boss, Mr Nakajima was a very friendly gentleman. Language did not deter him as he patiently gave me a lesson (using his phone translator) about the geographics and the creation of the Kawayu Onsen area. Secondly, the onsen was great. The temperature was just right for me and the mineral refreshed my body instantly. I was told the hot spring water in the hotel came directly from a source that is only a few kilometers away. Lastly, the kaiseki dinner was great. The spread was generous. On a freezing winter day, the 2 personal hotpots greatly filled up and warmed my body. I will definitely return to the hotel."

The food here is very good! Both the breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. Another highlight was the lounge, which provides a very chill atmosphere with complimentary biscuits, nuts, and a free flow of beer and other alcoholic drinks.

"The hotel is not far from Mashu JR Station. I called the hotel and a car was sent to pick me up soon. I had no problem communicating with the front desk in simple English. The room was Japanese tatami, the heating was turned on in advance, and the bathroom was very clean. The surprise was dinner, which was prepared in 20 minutes. Each family had a separate room in the restaurant on the first floor. The steak was grilled tender and juicy. I took a hot spring bath at night, which was very comfortable."

We had an excellent experience at Sansui. From the start the check in process was flawless and host was extremely welcoming. The outdoor onsen featured breathtaking lakeside views and amenities within the house were extensive and high quality. Would recommend this stay highly to family and friends.

The location of the homestay is outside the disciple Qu Yu, but it is very close to the city by car, and it takes about 5 minutes to get to the station supermarket.
The reception of the proprietress was very kind, because we didn't understand Japanese at all, she was very intimate to use some English sentences to let us understand the folk facilities, very intimate.
The room type we live in is tatami, there is a living room and bedroom, there is a lot of space to enjoy meals, play games or watch TV, very comfortable.
Men and women have toilets and bathrooms. It is very special that its bathroom has hot springs. I personally recommend that you must experience its hot springs. There is a faint sulfur smell, no pungent, and the full body will be relaxed and comfortable.
The laundry fee is very Buddhist. The proprietress is very considerate of the passengers. The price charged is really cheap. The clothes are still drying to the hot level. I am still very touched in retrospect.
The house is really historical, it is quite loud when walking, but the sound of the corridor is basically not heard in the room, so the impact is not big, you can experience the Showa style, before moving in, I was still a little worried about the cleanliness, but after I checked in, I found that the whole house was cleaned. Don’t worry (I have a cleanliness).
The experience of this stay is very good, and I will definitely visit again if I have the opportunity.

It has a location we needed to enjoy the nearby national parks.
Inside is actually not clean, even when you want to get some coffee there is spider web and etc.
Beds are super hard, so if you are not into it, better choose a different option. I had a great sleep here.
Onsen is not working anymore and only shower available, itself a pity. But seems like an owner is just lazy about it. It doesn’t matter, but it was sad that not even one towel is provided, only to rent it.
The owner is very polite and positive, he was nice and we had no problem with check in or checkout, a lot of parking space.

胃小威The traditional homestay seems to be a few years old. It is very close to the station and has a lot of guests. It looks like three or four kilometers away from Sulphur Mountain. The only downside is that it is a bit far from the restaurant supermarket ~ there are restaurants inside the hotel. The map indicates that there are restaurants nearby but when we went we didn’t know if it was closed due to heavy snow
