"The online photos of the room didn't match the actual room at all. We were supposedly staying in a Superior room, but I'm not sure what was superior about it. Don't stay on a Saturday night when the pub has live music, unless you want to go and enjoy the entertainment as the rooms are directly above and it is next to impossible to get any sleep till the music has finished. Added to this, the toilet kept flushing and wouldn't stop and the heated towel rail made gurgling noises all night. However, the bed itself was very comfortable and the breakfast (which was £10 extra per person) was perfectly reasonable. Overall though, go and find somewhere else."

Bridgeside Rooms ★★★

"If I could rate this property zero would. Maybe it's me, but when I pay £110 a night for accommodation I don't expect to have to walk 500 yards to drop of my luggage in the pouring rain. I don't expect to have to enter a code to enter the building, then enter another code to get the key to my room. And I certainly don't expect not being able to sleep because the headboard is infested with blood sucking bugs (see photos). Also be aware this is a room only property and no food is available."

"After reading the reviews I was dreading coming to the hotel. We were originally booked into the malthouse but had to rearrange the dates, Ashley Manager at the malthouse very kindly rebooked us in at the swan hotel as there was no availability at the malthouse. Then I read the reviews, it's true stairs to the rooms are a little narrow and carpet a little worn. Our room however was lovely, overlooking the river severn. A large room , very bright, old beams. The room and bathroom were clean. The bath did have a handheld shower which isn't ideal however I was expecting this after reading the reviews and it wasn't a big deal. The location is perfect for the Ironbridge and a very short walk to shops and restaurants. We booked breakfast and that was at the malthouse a 2 minute walk away which was no bother and breakfast was very good. Good quality sausage and bacon and my husband upgraded to the gorge breakfast for £3 and it was huge. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was served promptly. We also ate lunch at the swan hotel, max who served us was really friendly and the food was really good. We will definitely return next year. A very pleasant stay. Big plus they have parking."

"I stayed here one night whilst walking in the area. On the main road in the valley, but my room was at the back so no noise from the road or bars. The room was a little dated but had all the facilities I needed. A good shower. Friendly proprietors. My cooked breakfast was adequate. This hotel is better value than others in town."

"Absolutely wonderful. The decore and facilities are exceptional - very tasteful and the room was well stocked - especially with lovely cake! Julie the host was a gem and could not have looked after our needs better. We had a lovely couple of days - unfortunately I did not check the opening times of the local museums etc. and until the end of March they do not open Monday and Tuesday so we missed out. However I would recommend this facility wholeheartedly - really a gem of a place."
