"It’s a good hotel but definitely not for the price that I was charged. I spent 2 nights there for almost ¥4,000, which is the price of, say, the St Regis in such expensive cities as Shenzhen or Hong Kong… The garden and swimming pool area of the hotel are truly nice but the rooms… I wouldn’t pay more than ¥200 a night… Mediocre."

We had 2 cockroaches in the room despite closed windows. If you need to be in Jaco, check out the hotel on the other side of the creek. If you have a choice, drive a couple more kilometres to a nicer village."

"This was my first hostel experience and it didn’t disappoint. I had selected a private room and bathroom so there are many options available if you want to share a room or not. The staff are so helpful and fun and always in a great mood! I went on several excursions that I scheduled from Room2Board and they were all fantastic experiences. The owner, Bryan, is nice, friendly and helpful if you need suggestions to eat or places to go. The cleaning service was excellent! I had my clothes cleaned for 13 dollars and they were sparkling clean and folded. The pool was clean and nice. The top level is a must for watching the sunset and taking a nap in the hammocks. I had one of the best experiences and am so glad I chose Room2Board! I already miss it!"

"We really loved this hotel on the Pacific Ocean. The restaurant has delicious and varied food, and the pool bar has great burgers! We went on an excursion to the national park, but didn't see any animals. Unlike at the hotel, we saw lots of iguanas, huge, colorful parrots, squirrels, and coatis! The sunsets were magical! And every day on the beach, you can watch baby turtles being released into the ocean! The rooms are a bit dated, but it didn't detract from our stay."

"The hotel has seen better days. The first room, booked with a garden view, was awful. The view was directly onto a wall with water pipes and other cables. There was no light by the bed, and the only electrical outlets were in the bathroom. The walls were paper-thin. These are just a few issues; I could list more. After complaining, I received an upgrade to a room with a pool view. The room was significantly better. The food was tasty, but the selection was limited and basic. Breakfast consisted of a choice from the Tipico menu or fruit and pancakes, with no variation from day to day. Apart from one person at reception who was truly unpleasant, everyone else was very friendly and helpful."

The curtains had holes, and the walls were so thin you could hear absolutely everything, even just people opening their luggage in other rooms. The shower was in the bathtub, and the water would just pool up while we were showering. The room just wasn't comfortable :("

"The hotel is excellent, the level is not lower than **** stars, you can choose breakfasts, the staff tries and they succeed, it is quiet, calm and cozy, the manager Alexandra, speaks several languages, including Russian!!! A pair of jaguars, a male and a female, were sitting on a tree five meters from my balcony, the male was posing, the female was shy, then they disappeared. Beautiful view from the window and from the balcony below the pool. I recommend you will not regret it. The sea has big waves, you can't swim, but you can hurry up and watch the trees grow"
