"The service level is definitely not 5-star. Check-in is strictly at 2:00 PM. If you arrive early and don't want to wait an extra couple of hours, you have to pay 50% of the room rate, which is basically what they forced you to do. They even skimped on breakfast, saying you have to pay extra for it. The booking was for $178 per night, but we actually paid $190. There was someone else's hair on the bed. No toothbrushes. The outlet near the bed didn't work. Cheap renovations. Very cheap perfumes, definitely not 5-star quality. The shower barely runs, there's no pressure. The breakfast is okay. The alcohol selection is almost nonexistent."

"The hotel is located inside the ancient city, near the West Gate. Taxis can drive directly to the hotel entrance, which is very convenient. And because it's in the central part of the ancient city, it's easy to walk around for food and drinks. The only minor drawback is that the soundproofing in the rooms could be a bit better; everything else was great."

"A former madrasa converted into a hotel, as is often the case in Khiva. Located in the old city, it's a stone's throw from the main attractions but in a quieter area. The courtyard is a lovely place to relax. The rooms vary in size; ours was in a corner, so it was smaller but still very comfortable. We had two excellent nights there. The breakfast was plentiful, but don't arrive too late: the dishes aren't replenished. But everything was delicious. Overall, a great experience."

"The hotel's location is very convenient – it's in the old town, not right in the center, but on the outskirts, yet it's a 3-minute walk to the center. Because of this location, the hotel is quite quiet. We were given a room with a balcony on the second floor, which had a wonderful view of the old town. However, the room and bathroom were very small, and the bed linens were fresh and new. The breakfast was meager and cold, but quite tasty. There was no coffee beans. The hotel has a terrace with beautiful views of the city."

"Good location between Khiva train station and the old town. Parking is available in front of the hotel. There's also a swimming pool. The rooms are spacious. For a private trip, I would recommend a hotel directly in the old town. A swimming pool is available for the summer."

"The Asia Khiva was chosen by our tour company. It is a bit old fashioned without many embellishments. For example, only very small bars of soap to wash hands, small bottles of body wash and shampoo and thin bath towels. Breakfast was adequate but the large tour groups seemed to overwhelm the staff. The hotel does offer a wide range of goods to buy like tee shirts, local clothing and knickknacks as well as massage services which can only be purchased with cash."

"The location was good, however the bathroom in my room smelt very bad, getting worse on my second day. Additionally the shower head holder was broken. The breakfast was also not that good. Otherwise the room was comfortable enough, however I wouldve expected a bit more attention to detail for the price"

In the evening, you can walk 200 meters to the Short Tower for the night view, but you'll have to pass through a dimly lit alley. The town is safe."
