Needed a half-way place to stay on our way back home to Mpls. Looking online, the waterpark and the directly off-the-freeway location seemed perfect. Check-in was at 3pm. We arrived at 2:55pm and were told that our room wasn't ready yet. (Understandable as they are probably short-staffed. Waited about 30 minutes and got our room: king bed + sofa sleeper for $209/night.) Upon walking in, the room felt sticky and humid...even though the air conditioning was on high. There was mold/mildew on the vent. A ripped sofa cushion. Beat-up furniture. We decided to take the kids to the water park. Pictures are deceiving. The pool only goes to 3ft deep. (If your kids are little, they may enjoy this. My 11 and 13 year old were bored rather quickly.) The attendant running the slide was late to turn on the slide (the slide has operating hours) and was rude to the children. My kids also complained that the water was cold...but the small hot tub was overly packed with people. As soon as we walked into the pool area, I was getting a headache from the terribly strong chlorine stench. After a short time at the pool, we went back to our damp, sticky room to set the pull-out bed. The mattress had old cheeto crumbs on it! At that point, we all agreed that we were better off to just grab our bags and drive through the night to Mpls. We paid over $200 to spend only a couple of hours at this hotel. Never again.
