"Advantages: Good location, close to the airport, spacious and comfortable rooms, beautiful environment. Problems: 1. A huge cockroach was found in the bathroom. 2. The hotel cleans the room every two days. It was cleaned on the second day, and no cleaning was needed before check-out on the third day, but a staff member knocked on the door demanding cleaning as soon as I woke up. Their attitude was aggressive. It's outrageous."

TIP Top Motel

"For this island one of the cheaper options, still actually too expensive for the "quality" you get. In itself clean room, only the tap in the bathroom did not work so we had to be in the shower every time for water. There were also some shady figures hanging around the accommodation which made us feel not completely safe. This was probably unnecessary, in any case nothing happened. Also had a cockroach in the room, but that is probably not easy to prevent with the humid weather on an island. If you have the air conditioning on you can hardly hear each other, but without it gets very stuffy. A fan above the bed would be a nice addition."

Marriott's Kaua'i Beach Club

"It's rather old. The main issue is that the photos make it seem like there's a sofa and a bed, but the bed is actually a pull-down wardrobe bed with the sofa cushions removed. The air conditioner is very loud, and the sea view is obstructed."

Banyan Harbor Resort

"The apartment is ideal; it has everything you need and is very well equipped. The cleaning service needs improvement; the bathroom wasn't perfectly clean."

Marriott's Kauai Lagoons - Kalanipu'u

"Simply Spectacular. On a promontory overlooking the mountains surrounding Kalapaki Beach on Kaua’i and the great Pacific beyond, these villas were originally created as residences, but are now available by Marriott for rent. The rooms are in fact big 2 & 3 bedroom villas immaculately furnished with full kitchens and washer/dryers. Literally , a home in Paradise. There are two medium sized pools and a well-equipped fitness centre. Staff are courteous and helpful. You really need a car here to get to shops and restaurants and of course, to explore the beautiful ‘Garden Isle’. I promise you will not be disappointed."
