"The property is at the very top end in luxury mountain lodges and probably the best I have stayed at in China and offers an experience that exceeds Songtsam and others in this space. It has a stunning location closer to the mountains than the lodging in Yading village which is both good (lots of quiet , better views) and not so good (rides into the village are needed). The service is excellent and very attentive. The rooms are top notch and have an exquisite ******* design. There is even an outdoor pool for the summer season. While the prices are fair for what one gets it does perhaps mean lower occupancy (at least on our visit). After staying three nights did not hesitate to book another stay"

"I love the decoration details in the hotel. Although the overall vibe is modern, there are traditional patterns everywhere. We were upgraded to a bigger room which is spacious with big windows looking over Snow Mountain Square. Some of the facilities are of good brand names such as Kohler and Dyson. They offer welcome snacks which include popcorn, soda, potato chips, lollipops, Snickers, fruits… and also late night snacks that are more like a full meal (noodles, dumplings, or soup) - although these are only available after 9pm. The room came with 4 complimentary bottles of water. We could not go hungry there lol. The receptionist is friendly. The bus from the hotel to the airport is 35 RMB per person (to compare, a Didi ride will cost you around 100-120 RMB). It is overall a good place to rest after Yading and before flying out. Breakfast is quite simple (many options but hard to choose a good one). The butter tea was good though. In our room, the bottle that says “liquid soap” next to the sink seems to be hand lotion."

"Got a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was a nice touch. The breakfast spread was extensive. **Ambience:** Decent, and they have their own parking lot, which is very convenient. **Service:** Attentive, thorough, and welcoming. **Cleanliness:** The clean and minimalist design makes the whole space feel very elegant."

"This was my second stay at the Howard Johnson within three days. This time, I came back to the hotel to rest for a day after hiking down from Yading Village. The room was upgraded for free again, and the in-room amenities were still excellent. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and of good quality. However, there were a few hitches. First, let me state that I personally have no prejudice against ******* people, but the ******* housekeeping auntie at the hotel didn't speak good Mandarin. I couldn't understand what she was saying, and she couldn't understand me. During my first stay, the TV wasn't working, and the auntie came to help. After a long time of trying, she eventually suggested that I video call the engineering department directly. The issue during my second stay was that the hotel air conditioning had no heating. After calling to inquire, the same auntie came again, and it was still like talking to a brick wall. She said she would find someone, but there was no news for a long time. I had to call the front desk and found out that no feedback had been received. After all that back and forth, eventually, a front desk lady and an engineering guy came up to check. They said a valve was broken and needed to be replaced. I felt it was taking too long, so I discussed whether I could change rooms. The front desk agreed and quickly prepared a new room key. The front desk and engineering helped me move my luggage. However, in the new room, the air conditioning still had no heating. It turned out the main valve wasn't open. Firstly, I've stayed at many Howard Johnson hotels under the Great China umbrella elsewhere, and this is the first time I've encountered AC that only has either cooling or heating. Secondly, I hope the hotel can strengthen Mandarin training for its staff. After all, this is a tourist town, and there should be more Mandarin-speaking guests than Tibetan-speaking ones. Thirdly, when such problems arise, the duty manager or housekeeping manager should step in to resolve them, not the front desk and engineering staff. Finally, I'd like to thank and commend the front desk lady and the engineering guy who came up that evening to help resolve the issues and move my luggage. Both of them patiently and meticulously sought out the problem and actively worked to solve it. Especially the front desk lady, who maintained a cheerful and approachable demeanor throughout her service."

"The advantage is that the service is excellent. The driver picked us up and dropped us off from the visitor center, and the butler was always available to help with our needs. The room also offered a great view of the snow-capped mountains. However, the disadvantages were quite significant. When we went for breakfast around 8 AM, many of the dishes, pastries, and grains, which were already limited in variety, were cold. The dumplings and milk, in particular, were icy cold. Also, I'm not sure if the diffused oxygen system was faulty, but there was a strange odor when I connected the nasal cannula. After having it on all night, my headache didn't improve, even though the display showed an equivalent altitude of 0."

"The best choice for a trip to Daocheng Yading is undoubtedly the Crowne Plaza Yading Risong Gongbu Hotel. Located in the heart of Shangri-La town, its 2800-meter altitude is just right, avoiding altitude sickness while providing convenient access to the Yading scenic area entrance – a mere 15-minute drive to the sacred mountains. Upon arrival, a concierge proactively offered to help with luggage, a warm gesture spreading from the moment you stepped out of the car. Entering the double-height lobby, the ******* elements blend seamlessly with modern design. The hanging scroll depicting the three sacred mountains of Yading instantly evoked anticipation for the journey. The seated service during check-in was exceptionally attentive; staff member David offered ginger tea to dispel the chill of the journey and provided a detailed explanation of the scenic route and a guide map. The hotel's dining experience was a highlight of the trip. While the breakfast wasn't as lavish as in inland China, it was certainly excellent for the ******* region."

"Overall, my stay was excellent. **Attentive Service:** The hotel contacted me 1-2 days in advance to confirm my itinerary, provide details about entering the mountain, assist with bus ticket purchases, and arrange transfers. Their attention to detail was impressive. **Room Upgrade:** The owner kindly upgraded my room. The new room featured a large balcony directly facing the Xianairi snow mountain and panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, which significantly enhanced the experience. **Delicious Food:** While the food on the first day was a bit salty and oily, adjustments were made from the second day onwards. The hot pot was delicious, and the stir-fries exceeded expectations. **Abundant Breakfast:** The butler would ask for our preferred dining time in advance, offering a selection of congee, rice noodles, butter tea, coffee, various side dishes, and pastries. It was lovely to enjoy breakfast while gazing at the sacred snow mountains. **Excellent Service:** Whether it was the owner, front desk staff, driver, or chef, everyone was eager to answer questions and provide detailed information about the scenic area's weather and sightseeing conditions. My original plan was a short hike on day one and a long hike on day two, but based on the front desk's advice, we did the long hike on the first day due to good weather. After our hike, the hotel thoughtfully provided hot water, foot-soaking basins, and hot ginger tea. **Room Amenities:** The room was equipped with diffused oxygen supply, an oxygen concentrator, underfloor heating, and a humidifier, which effectively helped alleviate altitude sickness. The hotel also offered complimentary hiking poles and umbrellas. **Prime Location:** The snow-capped mountains were visible from the balcony and windows. The hotel is right next to the Daocheng Yading Museum and within walking distance of Yading Village Bus Station No. 2. All necessary amenities are nearby. **Minor Drawbacks:** The temperature was quite cold at night in May, and there was a noticeable temperature difference between the bathroom and the room. Also, the showerhead holder was broken and couldn't fix the showerhead in place. **Summary:** This hotel truly stands out in the core scenic area of Daocheng Yading for its dedicated service and reputation. I chose the wrong time to visit, as May didn't allow me to fully appreciate the breathtaking beauty of Daocheng Yading. I plan to return in October and will definitely choose this hotel again."

"Bringing my mother to the plateau, all my worries about her health were dispelled at Songtsam. The scenery was breathtaking, the room's interior design was sophisticated, and every detail was meticulously crafted. Honestly, in this location, having electricity is a blessing; to have such a comfortable hotel experience is almost magical. Furthermore, I'm grateful to have met the following staff: Uncle ChiLi (sorry, I only knew his pronunciation; I later learned his English was more fluent than his Mandarin), the driver who provided the shuttle service, the receptionist Luorong, and the young lady who greeted us at the restaurant on our first day. Songtsam should cherish such wonderful staff; after all, design and facilities can be built with money, but genuine service and care can only come from the heart."
