"Just a one-night stay, but I was impressed by the courtesy and welcoming of the staff. The room was very clean and the bathroom was spotless. The hotel is mostly made up of two-storey houses built on a hill overlooking the city of Volos with nice pathways and a swimming pool and bar in the middle. Although it was almost fully-booked, the peace and quiet was overwhelming at night. Short distance from Portaria main square, take your car there if you cannot handle the steep 15-minute walk."

"This is a resort that looks very “instagramable”but it has some pitfalls. It’s not suitable at all for anyone with mobility challenges. Lots of steep stone steps with no handrails including to the breakfast area. The restaurant was not opening until 8.6.2024 (do make sure you check before you book if you want any food other than breakfast) and no pool snacks available. It’s in a remote location and you definitely need a car. Do if the restaurant is closed you have to go out to eat. No facilities in walking distance. Views are very good. 18 rooms and only 8 sun beds, 4 bean bags and 3 double sun-beds that are actually in the pool. Limited shade in the heat of the day around the pool area. Staff we found to not be very friendly with a very laissez faire attitude. Breakfast limited with little choice and limited healthier options. All self-service including for hot drinks and coffee and orange juice and no change in the breakfast menu content from day to day. Hot item offering is eggs only. Need to really decide the target market they want - probably better as an adults only offering but there were families with young children which is not conducive with those who want to relax and be peaceful. It is clean and the landscaping is beautiful. Pool towels, bathrobes and hairdryer in room."

Palladio Hotel - Portaria

"The room was awful when you entered the room.Of the five rooms only in one had towels, so we could get us to the rest of their rooms we asked for it three times and they finally brought them in the evening. The worst was that they did not turn on the heating, and in the rooms the temperature barely reached 18 degrees (then they closed the heating and fell to 16). Every 2-3 hours we had the time to look for the person responsible to do something with the burner that didn't work (even at 4 o'clock we were looking to turn on the heating so we wouldn't freeze). You understand that in a mountain destination and indeed in winter this is a big problem; the score with 1 star is done because there is no 0 (or even less)."

"A nice, preserved set of 19th century traditional decoration in the countryside and in the rooms without excess.Delicious breakfast with fresh panther's cakes.Beautiful courtyard and a rooftop to enjoy a coffee and a bathtub.In our time, it is perfect. Value for money. I'll stay there again if I go back to the clay."

"A great experience underlined by beautiful surroundings, the warmth of the staff and the fresh products served at the restaurant. We loved the breakfast with fresh eggs and other fresh produce at the buffet. Dinner was great with simple yet, tasty and local products. Walking around the resort makes you "switch off" as the natural setting is out of this world. And if you love sports you will not be disappointed. An indoor basketball court is available to train. For those who love nature, renting suite 115 is second to none as you get to sleep with the window open and hear the sound of the water flowing by the neighboring river."

"The hotel was ok although the bathroom in our room is in need of serious renovation. In our room there was no kettle and cups like the room next door. When we asked about it they said its because the other room was at a different category! The pool should have been heated due to low temperatures. The breakfast was good."

"We stayed in Room 601, not a bad view, of this small hotel, right in the middle of town, walking distance to waterfront. Room was very clean and modern, with a good shower, and few toiletries. We did find the bed a bit small though and we are not tall people. The buffet breakfast was quite traditional and very nice. Would stay her again and recommend."

"Classic hotel with all what a traveller needs, e.g: helpful staff, clean room. Refrigerator in the room, air-condition, which does not stop working after leaving the room. Good breakfast. Bed was too soft for me, but it is a personal preference. Good breakfast."
