"We wanted to book here, but then read the reviews and booked at the Racing Steig Hotel. We wanted to look at the beautiful view here, the only way on the parking is very expensive and we quickly turned back - beautiful view without question, but here we probably wouldn't have had any pleasure."

"The beds are incredibly hard. I tossed and turned all night and was glad every morning when the night was over. Unfortunately, sleeping with the window open is also not possible, as the tranquility of the Thuringian Forest is interrupted by the exhaust system in the service wing. There is no air conditioning or ventilation in the rooms. The swimming pool is OK. The sauna works. Unfortunately, the steam bath was broken. The hotel, like the one in Heubach, is owned by a Turkish businessman. The chef is also of Arab descent. This means that there is no pork at all. The food/buffet also has an oriental touch. If you are looking for good, traditional Thuringian cuisine, you have come to the wrong place. However, there is always fresh lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers. The lunch menu is not worth the €9. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. In summary: OK for a sporty weekend of hiking or skiing. Not suitable for a longer relaxing holiday."
