Das Hotel Sherlock Holmes ★★★

📍 Alpbachallee 3, Meiringen

"We spent two pleasant and restful nights. Breakfast was simple but plentiful. The staff was friendly, and Jenny in particular took excellent care of us. The hotel is very well located. I highly recommend it."

Parkhotel du Sauvage

Parkhotel du Sauvage ★★★★

📍 Bahnhofstrasse 30, Meiringen

"Our stay at the Parkhotel Du Sauvage was excellent. We received a warm welcome. The room was tidy, and it was cleaned frequently throughout our stay. There were many choices at breakfast. Thankfully, we were able to get our coffee from a fully automatic coffee machine (many hotels usually serve instant or filter coffee). The bread and croissants were always fresh. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I don't understand why we paid so little for such great service; in my opinion, it could have been better. We highly recommend it!"

Hotel Dakota

Hotel Dakota ★★★★

📍 Amthausgasse 2, Meiringen

"Very warm welcome. The hotel corresponds to the description and pictures. Beautiful, clean room and bathroom. A large and comfortable bed and the requested ergonomic extra pillow was also there. For my dog, there was a dog bed, water bowl, and a welcome treat. And there was even an extra door tag that there was a dog in the room. Very convenient if you want to leave the dog in the room for a short time. The breakfast buffet offers a wide selection from scrambled eggs and bacon to cold cuts, salmon and various cheeses, fresh fruit salad and freshly squeezed orange juice, just to name a few, because there was so much more. I would especially like to mention the exceptionally attentive staff at breakfast who, after telling them my room number, presented me with a variety of choices of lactose-free and plant-based milk and yogurt - a preference I could also choose before arrival. Overall, an exceptional stay and highly recommended!"

Victoria - Alpine Boutique Hotel & Fine Dining ★★★★

📍 Bahnhofpl. 9, Meiringen

"We visited as a family for a short skiing break. The hotel is super clean, and the dining is spectacular. We didn’t go to any other restaurants during our stay: the food is great, staff is attentive and kind, what else does one need on vacation. Where Simon and Franziska came through was when my wife had a knee injury while skiing. They went above and beyond, calling the pharmacy on Sunday to have them open for emergency supplies for us, ensured we had plenty of ice, and even offered to drive us to the pharmacy or to the local doctor if we can’t make it there by ourselves (we traveled without a car rental). They said we could call them any time during the night if there’s an emergency (we didn’t take them up on this generous offer). In short, Simon and Franziska showed genuine care for our well-being. If we are ever in this part of the world again, wouldn’t stay anywhere else."

"The hotel is central. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and fresh. The beds are ver comfortable, and they even offered us a variety of different pillows. Breakfast is fresh and delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. We were there to hike, but there were skiers in the hotel, who could take the free ski bus to the lift."

Victoria - Alpine Boutique Hotel & Fine Dining ★★★★
"We had such a lovely stay at Victoria Hotel. Franziska and Simon have created a place that feels warm and personal with a touch of luxury. Simon is also the chef, and the food was honestly incredible. Dinner felt relaxed and cozy, quality was outstanding. Great wine selection including local Swiss wines. In the morning, the fresh, generous breakfast was the perfect way to start the day. The ski bus leaves every half hour from a bus stop located literally right across the street. What makes this small hotel stand out is the genuine hospitality. Simon was always present — greeting us, checking in, offering local advice. He even helped our 10-year-old wax his skis, which became the highlight of the trip. Aside from the steak he proudly ordered from the grown up menu :) The rooms at Victoria Hotel are simple and fairly small, but very cozy. Ours gave us an immediate "aaaahh" feeling: two kinds of pillows, a comfortable Queen size bed and a fold-out sofa for our son. A Nespresso coffee machine (the better kind) was another nice touch. A gentle night light, which automatically comes on if you get up during the night. Many thoughtful, lovely features to make the stay comfortable for guests. Our room looked out over the Meiringen ice skating rink, and it was such a pleasure watching kids skate to music in the afternoons. If I had to suggest one tiny change: swapping the dark grey towels for classic white ones would make the bathrooms feel even fresher. We left feeling very well looked after — and very well fed. Will definitely be back."

Hotel Meiringen ★★★
"Modern hotel with large living area and bathroom. Hotel is central to town and just a couple of minutes walk from the railway station. Room is equipped with TV, pedestal fan and small table and chairs. Very comfortable bedding - with bedside reading lamps. Some traffic noise but with double grazed windows it's not too bad. Very friendly and helpful staff. Stayed two nights at half board. Good breakfast and evening meals available. Easy walking to view the town and local area highlights. Two supermarkets within a five minute walk. "
