"I made a reservation for breakfast and dinner during the Obon holiday period. A few days after making the reservation, I received a call saying that they were overbooked and could only offer me a room without meals. They emphasized that the room-only price was quite cheap, but there didn't seem to be anything around the hotel, and they made a very assertive statement saying that they would keep the room ready for me if I opted for room-only. I was furious at their condescending attitude on the phone, as it was their own management mistake that they could only offer me a room without meals. It was the worst service I've ever experienced. Of course, I canceled and decided to stay at another hotel."

"This was a relaxing and quiet place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable. However, dinner wasn't available, and there was only one nearby restaurant, which was a bit inconvenient for those who wanted to have a drink. Breakfast was optional. It was mainly an egg-over-rice dish, but the other side dishes were simple yet delicious."

"In front of me is the Fujiwara Ski Resort Hotel. I imagined it must have been bustling with the ski resort boom from the Showa era to the bubble era. The facilities are old and have a Showa feel, and the rooms creak in places, but they are clean and no longer bother me. I chose Tsukishizuku no Yu for a plan that allows you to use the private open-air bath for free for 40 minutes, and the artificial waterfall is well made and wonderful. I went up to the middle of the slope in a slightly out-of-place yukata (apparently they no longer provide car transportation), and the open-air bath is like an open-air bath with only a simple changing area. The warm water in the nature is so pleasant that I wanted to soak in it for as long as I wanted. The meal was an elaborate kaiseki meal with plenty of ingredients from Joshu. For dinner, we had Joshu beef sukiyaki, Joshu pork teppanyaki, and other dishes that were delicious and filled me up. For breakfast, the tofu made from soy milk was delicious. I wish there was a hot spring* if possible. All the staff were young, kind, and nice. Thank you for booking a shuttle to Minakami Station and taking into consideration the route and time to the station for me on the way back. It was very helpful. I was able to relax both physically and mentally and it was a great memory. I would like to come back again."

"The building is solid, though the facilities are a bit old. I stayed there as a visitor, as it's apparently a facility primarily for government employees. Perhaps it's unavoidable since I was a visitor, but meals were served in my room. The food was very delicious. For bathing, I recommend the small family bath next to the large public bath. I think it's a free-flowing hot spring."

"Love this ryokan! Such a gem in winter time with steaming onsen and dramatic snow falling on the river. If you need mental reset, you must come. Great food, super clean place and hospitable people. Highly recommend to bring snacks and your own beverages as there is no cafes nearby. Overall experience is memorable."

"The triple room feels newly built, and the equipment is newer than the Japanese-style room. It seems that most of the guests who come here are for the private lake view hot spring on the top floor, or maybe because of the cold wave, the two large baths are almost unused, and the few times they are used are reserved. Although it is written that only the large bath on the third floor has an open-air bath, in fact, the large bath on the first floor also has an open-air hot spring. It is really a special flavor to soak in a hot spring in the heavy snow."
