"The hotel's location was easy enough to find, about an 8-minute walk away. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived, afternoon tea was over, so I missed out on the complimentary cake they offer guests. However, their ice cream is free and unlimited, so I sat down and had three scoops before heading to my room. The room size was adequate; I had no problem opening a suitcase. Afterwards, I went to their public bath, but it was a bit small and lacked any unique features. The sleep quality was pretty good though. The next morning, their breakfast was quite substantial, with cakes being rotated, and I had several pieces. Overall, I feel like I'd consider coming back."

"There are only about 10 suites within the Onsen resort. The hotel’s location is about 10mins drive from Nagano’s JR station. The resort is opened to public and hotel guests share the facility. There are a variety of Onsen pools both indoor and outdoor. A very different experience totally. Staff are friendly though only one or two did their best for English speaking tourist like me. We booked the Shinyi room."

"This is my first Ryokan and I stayed here because people said it is a must do when visiting Japan. I was hesitant at first because there were some not so stellar reviews. However, the owners are some of the nicest people I have met and researching about ryokans and Japanese culture and etiquette really went a long way in making my experience so much more enjoyable and meaningful. I loved my stay here!"

"The room wasn't very well-ventilated, and there was a strange smell coming from the bathroom. I stayed for 3 days and the room wasn't cleaned, but they did provide fresh towels. It's very close to the station, and there's a supermarket right at the station where you can buy dinner. There's also a public bath with a sauna, which makes it great value for money."

"My family and I stayed here to visit Togakushi Shrine. Our twin room was very spacious and open. Our plan included dinner and breakfast, and while the menu wasn't extensive, each and every item was carefully prepared, despite the high cost of living. Because the hotel is located in the mountains, it took some time to get there, but the view from the front desk was beautiful. The staff's service was also excellent. The lack of a large public bath (currently not operational?) was disappointing, but I hope the hotel continues to operate for many years to come. Maintaining the tennis courts will be difficult, especially with the decline in users. Perhaps they could renovate the course and turn the rest of the facility into a soccer field or basketball court for student training camps? I hope they can continue to operate for many years to come."
