Hotel Metropolitan Nagano ★★★★
"We had a very comfortable stay at Hotel Metropolitan Nagano. The location is excellent, as it is directly connected to Nagano Station, which made traveling around the area very convenient. The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay, and check-in was smooth. There are also many restaurants and shops nearby, which made it easy to find food and explore the area. Overall, it was a great place to stay in Nagano and we would definitely consider staying here again."
HOTEL ROUTE-INN DAI-ICHI NAGANO ★★★
"30 min from main station0, with Onsen"
Nagano Tokyu Rei Hotel ★★★
"Location is excellent right in the heart of the city and opposite the station. There's convenience store and Don Quijote 1 min walk away. Staff were generally polite and helpful. Room is squeezy by design, can't open two luggages at the same time. Okay for short stay but not for long stay. It's not really a hotel to relax due to tight space in room."
Sotetsu Fresa Inn Nagano-Zenkojiguchi ★★★
"Poor wifi, having trouble connecting to the hotel’s wifi, but close location to the train station"
Dormy Inn Nagano Natural Hot Spring ★★★
"The natural hot spring "Zenko-no-Yu" is free for guests. I went there every night to relax and unwind after a long day. The hotel is conveniently located, about a 5-10 minute walk from Nagano JR station. It's also very close to a popular ramen restaurant, and there's a Matsumoto Kiyoshi pharmacy just down the street in the other direction. Walking to Zenko-ji Temple was also very pleasant."
Chateraise Hotel Nagano ★★★
"Great location, easy to find, and convenient parking. The free ice cream and popsicles in the lobby were a real treat! The rooftop hot springs were a perfect way to relax after a long day. Plus, there were complimentary cakes and drinks in the lobby upon check-in."
Smile Hotel Nagano ★★★
"I used this hotel just for a shower and sleep after a dinner party near the station. It's an older hotel, but I found it to be clean. The front desk staff's professionalism and reassuring demeanor were perfect. The complimentary cleansing oil, lotion, milk, and toothbrush were much appreciated."
HOTEL COURTLAND ★★★
"Ok… i need to tell this, it was my mistake, i mistakenly asked for a smoking room when i actually wanted a non-smoking one. But, the air-purifier in this room is great... i switch it on and i was able to stay comfortably. Perfect choice!"
Hotel JAL City Nagano ★★★
"The room was very clean, breakfast was great, and the views were beautiful. It's just a little bit far from Nagano Station. I stayed here for three days and visited Zenkoji Temple, Togakushi, Jigokudani to see the snow monkeys bathing in the hot springs, Nozawa Onsen Village, and Karuizawa. Nagano is truly beautiful, and I'll definitely come back again!"

HOTEL ROUTE-INN DAI-NI NAGANO
"Except for the inconvenient transportation, everything else is good... Oh, the hot springs... are on the other side..."
Island Hotel
"I stayed here for the first time in 11 years. The public bath isn't very big, but I was able to relax comfortably. It's also not far from the station, only about a 6-minute walk."
Hotel Abest Nagano Ekimae
"Because we missed the last bus to Nagano due to a delay caused by the shuttle bus in Hakuba, we had to transfer three times, using both JR and Shinkansen lines, finally arriving at the hotel close to midnight. The journey was like an escape, with all the rushing around, and we were exhausted. ❌ We just wanted to get some rest. The hotel room was small, old, and run-down, with a bad atmosphere and poor soundproofing. Check-out was at 10 am, and we were too tired to get up; we overslept. Check-out at 11 am cost an extra 1000 yen, which was truly unacceptable. 😶 What a disappointment! 😔"
Local Knot Backpackers
"The hostel rooms were nice and spacious and very clean, as was the rest of the facilities. The host was great and showed me how to perfect pour over coffee! Would highly recommended this place!"
Toyoko Inn Nagano Eki Zenkoji Guchi
"Very good service, very clean and quiet. The breakfast are good."
NEW NAGANO NeXT
"Room is abit small but for short stay it’s ok. Thank you for setting up the bed for us before checking in as we have 3 person. Is only about 5 mins walk from Nagano station. Easy to locate and there’s a small ramen restaurant and sushi right next to Hotel and also Wendy’s burger. There is no bottled water provided in the room. Saw from reviews that Hotel will provide coins to buy bottled water from vending machine however I didn’t see any. Anyway, it’s small matter, no issue. Great 1 nite stay. Will consider staying the same hotel next time."
Hotel Nagano Avenue
"The large communal bath was nice. I wish the morning bath time was a little longer. The unit bath was clean. The parking lot is a little far away."
Susobanakyo Onsen Uruoikan
"There are only about 10 suites within the Onsen resort. The hotel’s location is about 10mins drive from Nagano’s JR station. The resort is opened to public and hotel guests share the facility. There are a variety of Onsen pools both indoor and outdoor. A very different experience totally. Staff are friendly though only one or two did their best for English speaking tourist like me. We booked the Shinyi room."
Nagano Daiichi Hotel
"The staff were wonderful. The rooftop public bath (for men only) was also very relaxing. I will stay here again."
HOTEL LiVEMAX PREMIUM Nagano-Ekimae
"1️⃣ Facilities: The room was surprisingly spacious (though I was a bit tipsy when I checked in, so I'm not entirely sure – maybe I got an upgrade? I don't know). It had a washing machine, an induction cooktop, and a microwave. It was like a whole suite. 2️⃣ Location: It's south of Nagano Station, not too far. I took the JR from Matsumoto to Nagano, and after drinking, I dozed off on the JR platform for half an hour, but still managed to walk to the hotel. 3️⃣ Onsen: I was too drunk to use the hot spring when I checked in. The next morning, I was rushing to get to Togakushi, so I missed out again. Thinking about it now, what a waste! But I did see a sign for the bathhouse in the elevator."
Omeitei Tsuji Ryokan
"I received a kind response"
The Saihokukan Hotel
"The service was very attentive and good."
YADOYA GONDO aioi
"I had a problem with check-in, and a gentleman came to sort it out super quickly! Spacious and convenient common area, FamilyMart a 5-minute walk away, decent room."
Jizokan Matsuya Ryokan
"We had an amazing ryokan experience at Matsuya. We stayed in a traditional japanese room and couldn't have asked for anything more right from the minute we stepped into the ryokan. After being greeted warmly we were taken for a tour of the ryokan, which was definitely necessary as there are quite a few stairs and halls and our room was at the back of the ryokan. We had booked a traditional japanese room and it was wonderful. Windows all around the room overlooking beautiful trees in neighbouring yards. We also had a functional, small bathroom a tv and wifi. There was hot tea waiting for us upon arrival and when we got back from dinner our room had been rearranged into it's sleeping formation with sleeping pads and blankets on the tatami mats. The food at the ryokan was extremely comprehensive for both dinner and breakfast (both very traditional japanese menus). Plus they had an onsen that we enjoyed (separate for males and females). Definitely recommend staying here and enjoying the full package by getting your meals included. I booked through japanican website."
Guesthouse PAW
"This time I used it without meals. The correspondence of the staff was also good. I couldn't use the lounge, restaurant, etc. this time, so I want to go with my family next time."
