"We wish to begin with one positive comment. The location was wonderful and we use to visit the area over 30 years ago and on our 40th anniversary we hoped to enjoy returning. This was our first time staying at the Lamplighter Inn. To begin our time, we were upstairs and the stairs seemed to have metal sandpaper. My husband was first to be cut on the steps that repeated 2 additional times. His wife also experienced the same and after 3 weeks we still have scars. Our disappointments were with the cost of over $300 a night, our room would not be bigger than a Cracker Jack box. It was misleading to the description and the pictures. A small space in bathroom and items could not be placed anywhere. The toilet top was tilted and items fell off. The fan was broken, hole in back of door where hook was pulled out. Mentioned to staff in hope the next people staying would be more comfortable. The open closet had a half mirror on a side wall to try and see anything. We wish we could give a glowing review."

"I was taken back by the lack of cleanliness, the diy repairs on the room, and the overall condition. The bathroom sink - we couldn’t get any hot water out of it. The shower/tub - there was no way to regulate the water temp and as the regulator was broken and just spinned in circles. There were holes in the walls, and the tv was a 28 inch that was so far away from the beds and up in the wall you could barely see any show you were watching. The pool area was very small as well so it was always packed - no room to enjoy it. The room was dark and the one window was up against the building next to it so you couldn’t see any light. I wasn’t comfortable at all the whole time I was there and couldn’t wait to leave."

"We had a beautiful anniversary weekend at The Inn. The breakfast was fresh and sumptious. The manager was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the captain's room which has a great river view and a nice extra sitting area. There are lots of things to do in the Pinelands and at the shore."

"Was told when I got there I got lucky I was getting an upgrade to a third bed in an adjoining room but really it wasn't I needed to get in there to use the bathroom so...it was just not a nice room it was clean but just not as nice as the room that was in the picture...I'm sure they do this all the time."
