Roman Empire Panglao Boutique Hotel

Panglao|1.45km from city centre
Reservations team was so responsive and accommodating. Front desk staffs were more transactional. They can't seem to like interacting with guests since by the time we arrived until we checked out. F and B staffs were more courteous like saying Hi and hello. Housekeeping was helpful. Aircon works well. Room is clean. I love the hot and cold shower as well. We love the easy access to the pool. We had the room on the ground floor which is good for us. Minor issues : - they don't provide extra bed for extra person. Room towel as well. Very limited. However, we managed to ask pool towels from Hk team since we are mostly swimming and we really need extra towels. - front desk is just until 10pm so if you need anything, you have to check it before reception closes. But actually they have guard at night who was so helpful as well. I requested a bath mat from front desk and nothing came until i met a guy from Hk and he sent one. - though the front desk was not so helpful. Other team was able to fulfill their lapses. So its okay. We are not demanding people. its just that we lacked those in our room which are basic. Housekeeping must to check on this before check in time so we can reduce our time and effort. But overall, we had a great stay. We felt at home and we enjoyed the big pool. My son had a great time at the pool. The resort is like 5 minutes drive away from the beach. But theres tricycle outside. Kuya driver was so nice to us. Didnt demand for a high price unlike other tricycle drivers. If you need good tricycle driver. His plate number is #357.

We had a great time staying at this resort. Their staff were nice and welcoming. There were regular power outages in the area but the resort had their own generator so it wasn't really an issue, just that our rooms were right next to where they kept the generators so it was a bit loud when they're on. The power usually came back right before we slept during the night so it was no problem. Rooms are spacious, they have really soft blankets and pillows. Bathroom was nice as well, they had bidets which is the most important lol. The minibar and snacks inside the room aren't complimentary but no problem because we brought our own. They provided towels as well but not allowed to be brought outside the resort which I guess is understandable. They have a 'shortcut' to Alona beach, about a 5-10 minute walk depends on how long your limbs are lol but definitely a quicker route than when you go along the main road. No street lights though so if you go during the night, better bring a torch. The resort and the streets outside were really quiet so you could really relax but on our last night there were Chinese guests in the room right next to ours and they were banging the doors and screaming at 12mn, they were being so damn loud I thought they were banging on OUR doors but it was the only annoying thing about our stay. Overall, we had a great time and we'll definitely recommend this place to our friends and ofcourse, we'll come back if we ever visit Bohol again.

Dumaluan Beach

Panglao Grande Resort
3.1/510 Reviews

Panglao Grande Resort

Panglao|0.05km from Dumaluan Beach
We recently (January 2020) stayed at the Panglao Grande Resort in Bohol. We give this resort 7/10. The first reason for this is because the resort is not 100% “ready” meaning the road to the resort is not complete. There is a caveat to this though and that is a legal battle between the resort and the neighbors who purchased land and the road to the resort with it. This is NOT the fault of the resort and they have an alternate dirt road that they use to transport to and from, but it just makes it less “comfortable.” The second reason is for the restaurant which leaves some things to be desired. They don’t accept credit cards, they were constantly out of food (I’m talking early in the morning for breakfast when they should be ready to go for the day). The third reason is credit cards at the hotel, meaning they don’t accept them. We understand that things happen and internet goes down from time to time, but to promote yourself as a resort and not accept credit cards in 2020 is just not up to snuff. On the other hand... The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating (we will give them a 9/10) with all aspects of the resort. They put us in an upgraded room when the AC in our unit went out, they were quick to help with travel off the resort and also to plan tours and excursions. Always with a smile ready to assist with our luggage. The staff really made our stay pleasant. Let’s talk rooms... We had an opportunity to stay in 3 rooms during our visit. The first is room 18 which we DO NOT recommend. It feels like a staff quarters and is just not dressed properly for guests. The second was a pool side room #25 and this one was dressed properly, but had no view. The third was #3 and this one was GREAT! Facing the ocean, Private little entrance, tile floor, just good to go (oh, except the shower water pressure... they need to correct that). Location, location, location... This resort is off the beaten path, meaning it’s not in the party area (Alona Beach). It was quiet at night, chill and very relaxing. The beach was usually with handfuls of people at most and not crowded at all like Boracay or Alona. The area was kept clean and the staff did a wonderful job to make sure the grounds of the property and leading up to it from the beach were nice. We have been to the party spots before and it’s all good if you are in that kind of mode, but if you want to chill and spend time with your partner this place has you covered. Overall we were very happy with our stay. This is NOT a Hilton, so don’t expect that, it’s a province, keep that in mind. Final thoughts... Nice place. Budget friendly. It hits the marks for what you need.

Linaw Beach Resort

Panglao|0.24km from Danao Beach
Disappointing and unsafe During my stay I had a dispute with a person following a phone conversation, this person hung up on me very hungry because I cancel his service. This man decided to come to my hotel to have a confrontation with me without my knowledge. I can't believe that the receptionist told this man my room number and allowed him to come alone to knock at my door. I am a small skinny 5ft 2 woman, at that time I was just out of the shower, with only my towel thinking I'll open the door to my brother or one of the friends I was on holiday with. Instead, I found a man (who I was afraid would be angry) outside waiting for me saying ”We have to talk” I never feel so scared and threatened in my entire life! In the room, there was no phone to call reception and no network coverage to call help. Being on the 1st floor I couldn't run away. So I lock my door and started calling for help through the balcony. Luckily my brother, which was in a room close to mine hear me and came to my aid. I can't find the words to explain how scared I was and how unbelievably unacceptable is for the reception to give out a guest room number and allow a stranger to just walk to my room. Especially when the guest is a woman alone. The hotel is not as good as it comes across in the pictures and the profile. Not worth the price, nor the title of Resort. much below expectations.   When there is a low tie, there is no beach at all to swim in. and no network coverage.

The Bellevue Resort

Bohol Island|0.25km from Doljo Beach
Having our wedding at Bellevue Resort was definitely the best choice! Our wedding was delayed by Covid for 3 years and there were a few staff changes and Sheila Baldo has picked up where the last events manager left off without a hitch. She was always available, polite and open to ideas. We looked around at other venue options and the beach front privacy and luxe experience Bellevue offers are incomparable. What we love most about the event was the food which was above and beyond the expectation for a buffet - it certainly tasted like fine dining, the attention to details and the execution of everything we have agreed on. My family and I have had such a great time spending our wedding and holiday/reunion in Bellevue. The daily breakfast buffet options were always exciting and cater to locals and foreigners alike. The koi pond is always a hit - you can do fish feeding, and I never tire walking past them. During our 5 day stay, they always have a quiet event at their beach front which says a lot about them being a very good choice as an events space for your important occasions. Some nights they had a live band to serenade diners at the restaurant. The staff - they are unbelievable! They were quick, accommodating, friendly and always at your service. What needs improvement on, however, was their spa and their massage therapists. We spoke to Drew, the manager, and plans to remedy this were actually on the way! I guess next time, we will have to try this out!

Captain's Lodge and Bar
4.3/522 Reviews
Thank you, Captain's Lodge. My home away from home 🥰 Thanking the management and staff for always welcoming me with the warmest smiles. The breakfasts are always so good and sustain me until my next meal usually in the late afternoons or dinner na. The staff and crew that are always approachable and kind. For taking care of almost every single thing for me and then some more. Thanks, my angels! My quaint room that’s always clean, comfortable, and relaxing that there are days I just bury myself in the sheets and read all day long until the sea beckons my name. And yes, the group of expats that never fails to engage me in intelligent talks and chit chats. (Thanks for sending me drinks by the way…. I don’t really drink but hey! thanks! Cheers 🍻) The garden, the mini library, the billiard table, and the bar that give the homey feels. Until the next time…
Alona Hidden Dream Resort
3.2/517 Reviews
First if all, the place is located right on the main street leading to Alona beach, and it's very noisy day and night (for those who might care). Second, no Wi-Fi in the room, and barely working one on the porch, so you have to sit on a hard wooden bench in the pool area if you want to use internet. Third, when we arrived and checked in into our room with ”garden view” we found out that our view is the wall of the room in front, shared ”porch”, which is more like a narrow alley filled with hanging laundry. When we asked the staff politely about the ”garden view” mismatch, the two receptionists instead of offering a solution directly started to blame it on us, saying that we (I quote) ”didn't request a garden view”. In my understanding, if it's written in the room description, it's included, and there was no note about requesting it anywhere. Clearly, they just wanted to get rid of me without fixing anything. All I wanted is to be moved to another room. They didn't propose that, so I asked if they had another room with a proper porch available, they rudely said no, that's all we have and turned away. After I asked again if there is anything available tomorrow or the day after, or even a different type of room, finally with very annoyed attitude admitted that there is one tomorrow that we could move to. Clearly, my trust is already shaken, so I asked them to see the room first. They made a whole scene about this, but finally showed me the room next to ours, which was better. The restaurant has similar service. We ordered 3 dishes, it took 40 minutes for them to bring one of them, and it was wrong. We sent it back, waited another 15 minutes and finally got all our food, which was very mediocre. Really not with the price and the waiting. After all this we really didn't want to stay in this place, so we booked another hotel, and went to tell them that we will be checking out. Got shouted at again saying that our booking is not refundable. Forget it. Even the swimming pool, the only nice thing about this hotel, couldn't be enjoyed because of the construction next door. The workers would stare from the roof and one even got down and was peeping over the fence...

We decided to book drives from the beauty of the images of the structure and we did not repent absolutely, in fact!! Despite some indications of the way to come as a barrier we found very comfortable to stay here, and renting the scooter we moved everywhere without any difficulty.. The room is also huge and well furnished directly in front of a beautiful swimming pool immersed in quiet.. very good breakfast (pancake strepitose!) and careful and discrete service. A fantastic stay. Thanks to all staff.

Purely. The bed is comfortable. Nice blanket. We asked for a kettle in our room and they brought it to us along with mugs and water. Friendly girls. There is a bakery on the ground floor. One bad thing - it was very noisy on the last night, and some cat was screaming every night and it was impossible to sleep.
Villa del Pueblo

This is like a Philippine motel. The pool is small but clean. The room was just soso, the sheets kept falling off the bed. The other thing was they didnt have the room we requested for the second night. So they ended uo transferring us to another hotel closer to the beach which was actually nicer, but still somewhat of an inconvenience.
