It was also really great.
I was assigned the same room, but it seems to have been maintained more since then

No, really, every corner of the wall or the open-air bath attached to the room
It's amazing that there's not a single speck of dust.
And the kaiseki course meal is...
It's really the best
I'll stay for 2 nights next time!
The family bath was also great
Shugetsu is the best, even in the rain

From the private onsen soaks, the tranquil views, the delectable food (black truffle shavings done table side was quite the treat!), and the extremely attentive staff, we couldn’t ask for more. I will say the location is rather remote but that is what we wanted - no distractions. We would stay here again without hesitation. PS: do the 5 course wine pairing with dinner - it’s worth it.

GGuest UserThe location is a bit remote and you need to take a tram. You can reach it by bus or taxi; the natural hot spring is worth experiencing. The hotel owner is very kind and the meal is delicious. In addition to the natural hot spring pool, there are 2 family styles to choose from. 👍

However, the facilities are rather basic, with limited choices.
Dinner needs to be booked 3 days in advance. There are no supermarkets nearby, so you have to drive to town to buy takeout.
The open-air bath is excellent; you can see the stars at night.
