I had a wonderful stay at this place. The location is perfect being right in front of the lake and just a street walk across. The place was also very clean and well-maintained, with heaters that kept the place warm and cozy. Parking was also available right beside the place. The owner was incredibly hospitable as well, providing us with coffee and chocolate. The owner was also extremely helpful in assisting me when I left something behind. I would definitely recommend this place to families and group of friends visiting Lake Toya. Definitely love to return in the future.

This stay at the Toya Kohan Hotel was quite pleasant. Although it's a bit far from the main area of Lake Toya, the hotel facilities are new and comfortable, and we could even enjoy a distant view of the lake from our room. However, due to the distance, it was difficult to see the evening fireworks directly from the hotel room; we still had to go to the lakeside in the main area for the best view. During our stay, my family accidentally left a handbag in Noboribetsu Onsen when we visited Noboribetsu Hell Valley. While it was our mistake, the hotel staff actively helped us contact the relevant parties and confirmed that it had been found and was at the front desk of a hotel in Noboribetsu Onsen. After checking out, we successfully retrieved the handbag from Noboribetsu Onsen. I'd like to extend a special thanks to a young Chinese-speaking front desk staff member at Toya Kohan Hotel. His translation and assistance were invaluable, helping us, as ********* who don't speak Japanese, feel less stressed and more at ease when encountering trouble during our trip to Hokkaido!

What a fantastic stay! I initially chose this place because I wanted to experience Lake Toya's beauty on a budget, and I was genuinely impressed. While its location isn't as central as some of the more popular hotels, Lake Toya itself is huge, offering unique views from every angle. The traditional Japanese-style tatami room was incredibly spacious – a rare comfortable stay during my Hokkaido trip. The owner was also very kind. I had booked a dinner and breakfast plan for two people, but when they realized I was alone, they doubled down on my dinner portion! The variety was great, and the food was delicious – I ate until I was completely satisfied. Plus, since it's not one of the super popular hotels, it wasn't too crowded. I practically had the hot springs (including the outdoor one!) all to myself in the evening. After my soak, I bought a couple of beers, and enjoying them while watching the snowy scenery brought such a sense of peace. I even went for another dip before checking out in the morning, feeling completely refreshed as I concluded my Lake Toya trip.

The host does not speak English and Chinese. He loves cleanliness. He stayed alone and didn't meet. I saw the note printed on the door. The instructions were very clear. Just go to the room table and get the key. Remember to change your shoes upstairs and lift the stairs. You can't wear shoes when you enter the room. After check-in, I have to call the host and send a small gift, thank you. The bathroom door is not very flexible, but it doesn't matter. The host gave the Wanshige soup coupon. It is enough to pay 500 yen. The soup is very good. There is no need to wash it at the host. Experienced the joy of making your bed and staying at a Japanese homestay! (Tips for Chinese tourists, the homeowner emphasizes that garbage should be sorted, if not, he will bring it to 711 and lose it). In short, I am quite satisfied! Also supplemented the knowledge of tatami. The front desk is on the left door, check in to see if there is your name on several doors. In addition, it is recommended that the gray kerosene heater on the right hand be collected, and the new white one in the corner is fine, otherwise you will really smell the kerosene, and it also wrote a reminder for ventilation at least 2 times in an hour. At night we could see fireworks from the room, zero crowds needed. Felt so special. *Highlights:* 1. *Private onsen option*: Booked a private family onsen and it was worth every yen. Clean, spacious, and relaxing with lake views. No rushing with others. 2. *Fireworks*: Room faced the lake so we watched the nightly summer fireworks from bed. Hotel staff even told us the timing. 10/10 experience. 3. *Room*: Spacious Japanese-Western room, tatami + bed. Clean and well-maintained. 4. *Location*: Right by the lake + short walk to shops. Buffet dinner had local Hokkaido food too.

”This was an ocean-view house we rented for just one day to visit Chikyu Misaki (Cape Chikyu) and Lake Toya before heading to Sapporo and Otaru with a group of 8 people. As expected, the ocean view was amazing, there was plenty of space for all 8 of us to sleep, and all the facilities were well-equipped. Everyone felt it was a real shame we could only stay for one day. It offers great value for the price. Note: There aren't many restaurants nearby, and most of them close around 7–8 PM, so keep that in mind.”

Conveniently located with clean and tidy rooms. The welcome bar in the lobby is great, offering drinks and some desserts. The hot spring is decent, but it seems to be segregated by gender with different time slots for evenings and early mornings. There are two shuttle buses to Toya Station every morning, which need to be booked by scanning a QR code at the hotel. Breakfast is also pretty good.

Nestled amidst lush greenery and surrounded by the soothing sounds of insects and birds, this secluded cabin offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The owner even went the extra mile by offering us a hearty breakfast to kickstart our day. Access to the loft is via a collapsible staircase, which may not be suitable for those with a fear of heights.
