Back in 2023 and I can say for fact the sheets, mattress, towels and duvets were the same from 2008! It's robbery to advertise this kip as a "5 star" at £100 a night! "I have known and used Novotel for over 20 years. It is a good hotel. For about 10 years I had not visited Port Harcourt. So it was a surprise when business forced me to stay over in Novotel due to flight cancellations. I was happy I did. It was such a wonderful experience at the restaurant the evening I came. The staff at the restaurant was particularly courteous. She demonstrated professionalism and was keen on making my stay enjoyable. Given the situation we have in Nigeria where staff don’t take their jobs seriously, I was amazed how this was an exception. She was ready to go the extra mile to ensure my comfort. I had no choice than to enquire of her name and background. Her name is Victoria Edoziem with degree in Business Administration. She clearly demonstrated she knew her job. Having traveled globally, I can know staff that is an asset to an organization. Clearly Victoria Edoziem is an asset to Novotel Port Harcourt. Because of her, I am ready to give Novotel 5 star."

"DEATH TRAP AVOID!! I sent money prior to arrival and met only one person who served as a cleaner, a receptionist and also the owner. There were no other staff and it was when I arrived, they had fixed pipes and electricity just to lure me to stay. I was the only guest and when they turned off the power towards the night for prolonged hours, there were people outside my doors waiting on me. The room itself has 3 doors linking to unknown places and can be accessed by anyone. Stay away. There is no hot water, no beds, nothing. I paid for 15 nights and had to run for my life and safety the same night and they refused a refund and had almost robbed me. I left everything. Beware. Its a kidnap den."
